Same in NY. It was very easy to change voting district if you moved or party affiliation.
I crossed the river and campaigned for Cuccinelli while these bastards half-stepped or sat out. They can f### themselves.
At the source, you can read the justification for the new policy. (just below the scribd at the link)
Snippet:
The benefits of this statement are twofold. First, this Statement provides us with a huge opportunity to collect data.
-
Second, while that Statement if very broadly construed, it will hopefully deter Democrats from participating in our primary process.

More like the media has called a 98-yard pass-interference penalty on America and given the Left the ball, first-and-goal at out one yard line. Trump is the nose tackle and Cruz is the linebacker. They need to be stopped on every play from here on out, or the game is over.
That said, I'd gladly sign a pledge to vote for only Cruz or only Trump - in both the primary and the general. I'm no longer interested in extending GOPe sinecures.
Are you sure you understand their tactic?
Many conservatives who are disgusted with the GOPe have registered as independents and therefore, are not allowed to vote for conservative republican Ted Cruz or Donald Trump in the VA State GOP Primary.
Florida is a closed Primary State.
Never heard of the fee - New York restricts changing parties by making you sit out for a year. Closed primaries there.
The Texas Speaker of the House tried a “loyalty oath” - we’re still trying to get rid of him and his loyal followers.
We have more Democrats listed as Republicans in our state house.
Obviously this is no longer a free country. Why the hell should ANYONE have to pay a fee to register to become a part of ANY political party or group? I will vote for whomever I choose and have NO INTENTIONS of having to pay to do so.
At one time when “GOP” meant something, we sent funds to the people we believed to be the best representative(s). NO LONGER! When ever a fund solicitor calls, we clearly state that we NO LONGER SUPPORT THE REPUBLICAN PARTY.
Cochran and Barbour of MS were also democrats that found it convenient and expedient to change parties during the Reagan Revolution, not because of principle, but as a means of retaining power.
RINO = Republican In Name Only
From Sundance’s Conservative TreeHouse
1299 respondents: Trump 40%- 11/19

441 respondents: Trump 42.6%- 11/23
381 respondents: Trump 38%- 11/24

Notice how Trumpâs numbers significantly decreased once they began to lower the sample size?
But, why do you have to go through the DMV ..?? The “Change Registration Form” should be available online at any COUNTY website.
If not, you better get busy and fire those in charge of your County.
“However, with millions of Independents and even conservative Democrats now supporting a center-right candidacy of Trump, a large segment of the electorate are registering or re-registering back as âRepublicansâ to support Trumpâs primary race.”
What kind of idiots try to purposely destroy their own party?
I thought we ‘needed’ a candidate that would appeal to the middle in order to win (McAmnesty, Romney)?
Now they have one that is bringing in outsiders in droves and they don’t want that either. We can’t actually WIN an election.
I agree. If by some miracle Trump is the nominee, the gop (note gop, not gop-e...there is no difference) will do everything it can to scuttle his campaign during the general. Probably through some sort of “unity ticket.”
The gop is just as evil, just as kleptocratic, just as socialist as the rats. It’s a one party system with two colluding factions. A uniparty system. Voting in these sham elections does nothing but make you complicit.
This is despicable!
Tennessee has an open primary, which I didn’t like when we moved here because liberals can pick our weakest candidate. Or a pro-amnesty one. On the other hand, I didn’t have to be part of the evil GOP either.
I got this from Wikipedia, but haven’t verified it:
There are 14 states that use a purely open primary process:[6][5][7]
Alabama
Arkansas
Hawaii
Michigan
Minnesota
Missouri
Montana
North Dakota
South Carolina
Tennessee
Vermont
Virginia
Wisconsin
The following states use a semi-open primary system:
Alaska: Parties may decide who may vote in their primary election. Republicans hold a closed caucus for nominating candidates, but Democrats, Libertarians and the Alaskan Independence Party all hold open primaries.[8][5]
Georgia: Voters do not register with a party, but voters must declare an oath of intent to affiliate with the party in whose primary they participate.[5]
Illinois: Voters do not register with a party; however, they must publicly choose which party’s ballot they will vote at the primary election.[9]
Indiana: Voters do not register with a party, but the ballot they get depends on their voting history, or which party they have voted for most in the past.[10] Known as a “modified open” primary, voters must have voted for a majority of a party’s candidates in the last general election in order to vote in the primary. If the voter did not vote in the last general election, the he/she is must vote for a majority of that party’s candidates in the general election; however, this is difficult to enforce.[5]
Mississippi: Voters do not register with a party, but they must support the nominations made in that party’s primary.[5]
North Dakota: Voters do not register with a party. Republicans hold a caucus that requires voters to have supported the Republican party in the last general election, or to do so in the next one.[5]
Ohio: Voters must affiliate with a party in order to vote in its primary; however, they do not choose their affiliation until they request that party’s ballot in the primary.[11]
Texas: Voters do not have to register with a party. At the primary, they may choose which party primary ballot to vote on, but in order to vote they must sign a pledge declaring they will not vote in another party’s primary or convention for that year.[5][12] Voters must affiliate with the same party in runoff primaries as in the previous primary for that year.[5]
Blanket primary
Three states uses the top-two blanket primary process. In these states, only one primary is held with candidates from all parties participating. Thus, all voters are able to participate in the single, blanket primary. The three states are:
California
Louisiana
Washington
Uhh, no. VA is an open primary state. People are not registered by party preference. On primary day, you ask for the party ballot you wish to vote. This is an attempt by the VA gop to get those voting to swear their loyalty to the gop.
The VA gop is deeply hated within VA, especially by conservatives. So conservatives will be relictant to sign a pledge associating themselves with the party. “Hive of scum and villainy” is an understatement.
