Yep, the MyFoxDFW app and the DFW NBC app both tend to lock out comments on “controversial” subjects. Can’t have the populace making unPC comments.
People who do say something could be sued. Or vilified all over social media.
This is good news.
Wonder why I do not read it on CNN or ABC or ?
“Yes with the end game being this lawsuit. “
so who is the attorney who is defending this perp?
Maybe we need to send a message.
They better give him 15 million dollars or the Muslims are going to blow up everything within 25 miles radius.
...People who do say something could be sued. Or vilified all over social media...
Almost anyone can sue anyone else for almost anything. But, winning is another matter.
Vilification on social media is a lib favorite.
But, it isn’t working like it used to.
Examples: chic fil a, hobby lobby, and Donald Trump.
If I were on the jury I wouldn’t give him a dime and would press to have his suit be declared frivolous and he and his lawyer fined big time.
My local news (central TX) mentioned it. They said that he made a clock, but not that the clock resembled a bomb. They did show a picture of the bomb-clock, at least, so viewers with brains could definitely spot the problem.
Like someone else said, though, they are probably going for an out-of-court settlement, hoping to scare and bully the politicians and local officials into it. The last thing they would want is a jury looking at and listening to all the evidence.
Saw it on OAN.
The story made all the local news in the DFW area.
Never heard of OAN but I looked it up.
That makes sense, since the lawsuit won’t be able to be hidden from taxpayers there.
But apparently the story was widely covered by local news stations when it “broke” (it was covered repeatedly by my local stations in Kentucky), but angles like this one go uncovered. And the national network news is apparently not covering it, either. They know full well that public reaction would be very negative, and probably also that people generally don’t think the school and police acted unreasonably, so they don’t want to report on this lawsuit.
I just thought of another story I heard of recently that’s relevant. I’m not sure it was posted about:
Passenger’s bomb ‘joke’ forces plane to land in Bulgaria
A bomb threat that turned out to be a hoax, made by a “joking” Polish passenger, forced an airliner flying from Warsaw to Egypt to make an emergency landing in Bulgaria on Thursday.
(snip)
Prosecutors said a 67-year-old Pole had alerted crew about a possible bomb on board. He has been arrested and could face up to 15 years in jail.
Earlier on Thursday the Polish airline said in a statement that the man had “informed the cabin crew about the explosive he might be carrying. (He) ... later admitted it was a joke.”
A police spokeswoman said the passenger admitted having consumed alcohol.
He didn’t even build a clock, he just put the guts from a 1980’s era digital clock in a small suitcase to freak out his teachers.
He’s a fraud and a cheat trying to get money and sympathy.
“He didnât even build a clock, he just put the guts from a 1980âs era digital clock in a small suitcase to freak out his teachers.”
Yes, I know. Yet I’ve never once seen the t.v. news mention anything about that, even though he himself admitted spending very little time on his “project,” when they talk about this case. They stick to the barebones original story as secular humanists framed it, and any deeper investigation is labeled hateful conspiracy theory.
I prefer that any court action be found in favor of the plaintif, and that the defended be ordered to pay an award of $1.00
Let's see...
What's 35% of $1.00?
