LOL
Yes sir. Mmmm Mmmm Mmmm! :-)
Dave Grohl frequently sits in with Queens of the Stone Age as their drummer.
Yeah, nowhere near death metal. Bluesy alt-rock ala White Stripes was my impression of them in my limited exposure.
Indeed
I should have mentioned. That one off album was great.
I can’t imagine being stuck in a auditorium under those conditions. It is just awful.
Terrible name for a band under these circumstances.
I agree with you. One culture of death meets another culture of death.
As for you, folks should avoid people like you who publicly state you couldn't care less these Americans just survived having a very close call with mass murdering terrorist.
*sigh* The band name is ironic. It’s not death metal.
Do you know the band? Do you know anything about them? Know anything about drug use, etc...Didn’t think so. This issue I raised was this: Why were special expressions of joy given for their survival over all the others who got out? Are the other people less important? Why are we supposed to be excited about these guys over people who got out and aren’t “famous”? Perhaps you share my view that it would have been better that all of the non-terrorists would have gotten out alive, or perhaps for you all that matters is that some “famous” Americans got out alive. In the fever-swamp of your mind what you see is “anti-Americanism”; what I see is foolish sentimentality, misplaced nationalism, and rank stupidity. Other than that, this is a really good thread.,
Again... a foolish response. My post made it pretty clear I don’t care about the name. The point, since you missed it, was why is it so much more important that some guys who are “famous” got out than all of the others?
Yes, an odd response. If you notice, the initial post was rejoicing that these “famous” guys got out, without much of a thought given to all of the others. Although I wish all except the terrorists made it out, there is nothing about these guys that makes their getting out more important than any of the other survivors. I suppose I should reconcile myself to our celebrity glorifying culture, but I just think it’s worth the effort.
If you thought the post was about the name of the band, you should work on your reading comprehension.
No, I wasn’t doing any such thing. Are you really that comprehension challenged? Go back and try hard...the response was to the comment about no life being worth more than any other.
The same questions could be asked of you in terms of what you know and what you don’t know. Do they do drugs? I don’t know but do you?
Josh Homme has kicked a member out of his band Queens of the Stone Age when he was a mess which was their bass player.
If the band could get out why shouldn’t they? It sounds like a run for you life type deal.
Not even close to what you were expecting or claiming, is it?
My comment wasn’t about the name...it was a response to the ecstasy expressed in the initial post that these guys got out as if no one else who escaped mattered. While this has nothing to do with your comment, I think the initial comment reflects our culture’s pathological obsession with celebrities. I’m AT LEAST as happy that all the nameless others got out as that these guys got out, and it is bizarre that their escape merit paroxysms of joy without any evident thought being given to the others. Again, I know that isn’t your issue.
Dang, you and I posted the same video, about an hour apart. LOL!
NBC is reporting one band member is dead. No names or details.
I know the piece and others. Thanks for trying. I guess I’ll go with the spirit of our celebrity culture in the initial post...Yay!! the celebrities got out!!! After all, they are so much more important than the nameless others!!!
And just so you aren’t confused, my response to the woman about one life having no more merit than another was directed specifically to her comment.
