Yes, I don't want to hear about "Close the borders first."

I want to hear, " Close the borders." Period.

Here’s the link: http://www.azsos.gov/elections/voting-election/election-information . It’s all in there.

“And, no we don’t know how Trump would have voted, but that’s the beauty of being an outsider - he doesn’t have a record which has screwed the American public.”

But Catsrus, beauty is in the eye of the beholder. What some may see as a blessing others see as a big red caution sign. The lack of a voting record allows a candidate to say they believe anything they think you want to hear. There is nothing to trip them up.

It could be that some of us just see the glass half empty and some half full. And some have more faith in human nature than I do. I’m a bit cynical and it has served me well. I’m not fooled very often. But when I am I’m a very fast learner:)

Catherine, a good response to those who say Cruz is too conservative is to ask them if they think that the founding fathers were also too conservative. Cruz’s beliefs are pretty much in line with those who wrote the Constitution. Ask them if they think that the Constitution is just too conservative for the American people?

Did I say to vote for the one who was 100 percent conservative with absolute perfection or did I say to vote for the most conservative candidate?

I wish Cruz would be stronger with his immigration statements too. I wish he hadn’t voted the way he did for a couple of other things.

I think Sarah Palin was the closest to perfection I’ve ever run across when it came to conservatism and even she had a couple of things I didn’t agree with her 100% or wish she had made stronger statements about. I was really disappointed in her support of John McCain. But it wasn’t enough to make me not want to vote for her. IMO she still would have been the most conservative candidate if she had run the last go-round.

Thanks for your response CottonBall.

We really don’t know how Trump would have voted on any of the issues that went before the Congress.

Trump did say that anyone who voted for TPP was not qualified to be President.

I remember him saying that. But the point is aside from him saying so we don’t really know what he would or wouldn’t do as he has no voting record in the Congress.

Are you saying you don’t know how he would vote on illegal immigration?

“Are you saying you don’t know how he would vote on illegal immigration?”

Yes that is what I was saying. I have no idea how Trump’s votes would have gone if he had been in the Senate as he has never held a political position before.

There are more than a handful of new Senators who ran with conservative support claiming all kinds of things they would do and wouldn’t do and turned out stabbing conservatives in the back. One of them my own State Senator Ron Johnson. He too was a successful rich business man, used much of his own money to run and made all kinds of promises especially about Obamacare. He had never held a public office before. All we had was our faith in him that he was telling the truth. I won’t make that mistake again.

Just explaining my reasoning.

Well, then Trump’s never going to be your guy.

At least not this election.

So, is it your mission to tear him down?

What other mission could it be?

“So, is it your mission to tear him down?

No. I don’t hate Trump. I just see him differently than some others. I don’t intend to tear him down. I’d rather talk about the strengths and weaknesses of the candidates and compare. I’m not emotionally tied to any of them. None of them are perfect.

I guess I don’t have a “mission” per se but I do strive to try and get people to see things as they really are not as they want them to be. My hope is that people use their heads and not their emotions to choose a candidate. Ultimately it is out of my control so I’m not going to raise my blood pressure over it.

This election is serious and I am passionate. But I have no hate for any of the republican candidates out there. I can’t say that for some of the democrat ones though.
