If I leave the GOP I can’t vote in the primary in WV. Otherwise I would leave them. In WV we consider ourselves lucky that we are allowed to vote GOP.

There are no ballots for Independents in the primary. My husband never has been able to vote in primary because he’s an Independent.

If you aren’t registered with a party, you are “Unaffiliated”.
