>>Because Trump believes there should be an active role of Big Government.<<

Bingo! Like his support for single-payer healthcare. He’s no conservative and never has been; he’s a big-government crony capitalist. The bigger the government, the better he and his cronies do. Thinking someone like Donald Trump will rein in big government is delusional, and contrary to anything he’s ever said or done (until Bill convinced him to run for President, as a Republican of all things.)

But people are figuring this out finally....

Not at all. You missed my point. Just saying this is revenue that could be used to pay off debts.

Then why does this pipeline have to have government approval?

A good negotiator always asks for more. It’s in their DNA. :-)

Trump vs Canada's Zoolander.

All pipelines crossing the US border, require approval from the State Department.

Just saying this is revenue that could be used to pay off debts.

Sure, we could have the government make up new rules for different companies and projects, charging newly made up fees without any supporting authority. And that money could be used to pay off debt, or could be used to justify new spending.

Is that the government you want?

I’ve been reasonably supportive of Trump as my fall back after Cruz... but this kind of equivocation doesn’t help him. He is popular because he is decisive. Indecision on something so basic undercuts his primary selling point.

Approval, not extra made-up fees.

>> why would the feds be allowed to get a percentage from this pipeline <<

Dear Leader Trump can do no wrong. Get over it. If he says a percentage should be skimmed, then that’s what should happen. Period. Full stop. End of story.
