we protested this at the mexican consulate in 2001, too
2 months prior to 9/11. And this was Jeb’s brother’s priority.
Thre e million? This is from 20 years ago. Right?
We need a president who is interested in enforcing laws already on the books instead of another one looking for more weasel ways around them.
Bush just lost my vote.
“Bush just lost my vote.”
He’s never had mine! The whole Boosh Family are pond scum in my opinion, and not all that smart to boot!
And that’s why we must concentrate on George W. Bush! Because electing a conservative in 2016 is secondary!
Never had my vote.
Just teasing you . . . .
Sounds like W's initial plan was to legalize Mexican illegals only - three million. Then I guess the Bush family's romance with Mexico had to be extended to all illegals just to make it seem more fair and to pander to more groups.
W had an Amnesty Summit with Vicente Fox on 9/5/2001 and wanted to give him a gift.
I remember this.
9/11 put this on hold for a bit, but Bush came round again as soon as he could.......2007
I will never forget how betrayed I felt!
W said during his 2000 campaign that his top foreign policy goal would be to improve relations with Mexico. He just neglected to provide many details before election day. I thought it sounded odd during the campaign, but he only really started pushing his amnesty programs after he won reelection in 2004.
I think he was told that his plans would be DOA in the House all during his first term. Then he made the two big pushes in 2006 and 2007. After those failed, and then the Republicans lost the House, at a press conference after the elections W was positively giddy at the prospect of working with Nancy Pelosi to finally get amnesty passed.
"See you at the bill signing."
Should be, after the first amnesty push failed in 2006, and the Republicans lost the House...
I’ll never forget that Amnesty for illegal Mexicans was W’s first order of business for the first 6 months of his presidency until 9/11 happened the week after his Amnesty Summit with Vicente Fox.
Oh, I see you already posted this. Thanks!
President Bush’s top immigration advisers are weighing plans to allow the more than three million Mexicans living illegally in the United States to earn permanent legal residency, officials involved in the deliberations said today.

“...three million Mexicans living illegally in the United States...”
Huh, fast forward to today and the numbers are north of 12 million, each of whom came here out of “an act of love” according to Señor Yeb.
STAY OUT DA BUSHES!
