H-1B ping. Let me know if you're not on the list and want to be added (or are and want to be removed).

Totally agree.. I am a retired IT pro also. My experience vis-a-vis company management has been generally that they regard IT as a big pain in the butt - projects take too long, are too expensive, and IT workers are overpaid, arrogant, and bring up technical things management doesn’t understand (or doesn’t want to hear about). From management’s point of view, at least the workers they get from Southeast Asia are servilely compliant and will work for slave wages.

It’s time to design it to benefit the citizenry, not empty out every third world hellhole by importing them here.

Agreed, but remember, a hundred to a hundred fifty years ago Ireland, Italy, Poland, etc. were the equivalents of those third world hellholes. Folks railed about those immigrants too, but they ended up contributing more than they cost.

The one hard and fast rule should be NO MUSLIMS, EVER! Reset the rules for immigrants to preclude public assistance (except medical emergencies) and the indigent will disappear, leaving productive people who want to become US.

Hey, I can dream, can't I? Must be my liberal side coming out!

In fact, they spend tens of millions of dollars lobbying to be able to do so.

It is time to start calling lobbying what it is; BRIBERY. One possible cure is to require all political donations to be ANONYMOUS. Politicians can't sell influence if they don't know who is buying. Being able to donate in any amount you choose to a politician or party is FREEDOM. So you donate to those you believe will act in your best interest.

A side benefit is that candidates and office holders will have to state clear positions on a range of issues to encourage donations from the like-minded.

Where am I going wrong?
