I’m surprised you found that. The thoughts contained in that post percolated in my brain for the better part of 4 years. Then I fleshed them out into 2 separate Publius Essays.

Federalism: Yesterday and oday

Reflections on the 82nd Anniversary of the New Deal”

I came across it a long time ago and saved it because I thought it described the situation very well.

I’ve posted it before and also pinged you then.

My memory must be slipping. (Should have taken my senility pill today.) Check out the two magnum opus essays that it generated.

It raises an interesting question though. What is his party? Politico, no. The RNC, yes. Voters, not just Republicans (I'm not one), maybe. It seems as though he "betrayed", too harsh imo, the voters who elected the representatives who made him Speaker. They count, even non-Republicans like me. Who don't live in his district, since as Speaker he represents many districts.

Full disclosure, I voted for Poshard for Governor, pro life, pro gun, tax and spend liberal but honest as far as I could see. Have gotten flack for that on FR before, but I'd do it again. Issues matter, I'm not sure the GOP gets that.

I read “Reflections on the 82nd Anniversary of the New Deal” and it is great. The other one I have started on and is certainly a major work. It will require some study. It is interesting to see that history shows us our quibbles among the parties sttarted so early. It’s my understanding that Hamilton got us off on the right track by insisting that we pay our war debts. He wanted us to be a major power, one that could teach France and Britain how to go about in the world. Paying our debts would give us this opportunity because nations would want to do business with us. Jefferson just wanted us to be an agrarian nation but then he went and purchased Louisiana. Love your last line and seems about right. Will we return to some form of the old constitutional republic or will we be fascist?

If you post another vanity like these, please ping me. Thanks
