Fiorina has all the establishment RINO baggage of Walker, but much more failures as a leader.
Walker generated all the excitement of a flea circus. And he’s an establishment guy. Now he’s gone thank God.
A good and very capable guy, I think. But what gets you elected in this media age is being Trump. Abraham Lincoln could never have gotten elected the way the game is played today.
I'll grant you that Scott Walker isn't an energetic candidate but an establishment guy? Why did he get such tremendous push-back in Wisconsin if he is an establishment guy?
“Agree. He chose advisors badly and then took their bad advice and went all wobbly. “
That is the reason I loved Reagan so much.
Yes he had advisors, but chose his convictions over what they told him.
I think you have to ask yourself first would you want Walker taking the 3:00 AM phone call. Then look at his stance on immigration. You can count on him to basically do nothing to secure the border and he will let them all stay. Walker is the guy who encouraged every GOP congressman and senator to vote for TPA. Plus the guy changes his mind every other day which tell me he has no thoughtful stances on the issues. He would get chewed up and spit out by Hillary in a general election. Basically Walker is a regional candidate and it usually does not transfer well to the national stage.
You can disagree with Scott Walker on issues (I do) but to claim he is an establishment candidate seems totally baseless.
Even though this has nothing to do with my comment, I'll answer that question. I would like Scott Walker to take that call more than almost all the Republican candidates and any Democrat. He has handled himself well in crisis situations in Wisconsin. Walker has shown himself to be strong in the face of opposition and he seems to exercise sound judgement.
After Dayspring et al drove that one innocent man in MS to suicide—to outright suicide—you’d think he, Dayspring, would have a hard time finding work. Very disheartening to see Walker’s superpac snap him right up like that. Just further confirmation it’s not the country it once was.
Another chapter in the Walker poll saga.
FReep Mail me if you want on, or off, this Wisconsin interest ping list.
Walker is a GOP establishment guy, not a DNC establishment guy.
At the state level, that remains a distinction with a difference, at least in many states.
At the national level, the distinction is vanishingly small.
Establishment guys do not make waves. It's okay to talk tough for the great unwashed masses if you have to but it is not okay in their "go along to get along" world to act on those words. It's easy to talk tough until action is called for. Because he is willing to act, I have a lot more respect for Scott Walker than most of the other candidates on the two stages last Wednesday. A couple of the candidates made me laugh out loud with their bombastic talk, knowing that when action is called for, they will be back-peddling like an NFL cornerback.
That said, Scott Walker has been a disappointing candidate.
Excellent governor, lackluster presidential candidate BECAUSE, in WI his establishment ties were not a bad thing... on the national stage they are.
Dont have time to post a new thread, but just heard on Fox News (Cavuto) that Scott Walker is going to have a news conference, and will be dropping out of the race.
Damn, I didn’t think Scott would take my statements here that seriously.
Anyway, good luck Scott. I hope you keep your governorship in Wisconsin and maybe you can give the presidential thing another try in another election cycle down the road.
Some advice: Dump the GOPe advisors and go rogue next time out.
