Oh, yeah, I worked for a couple of those. It isn't a fun experience, especially for a guy. They have to prove how tough they are (or at least think that they do), rather than how smart. Turns out that they may be tough, but that simplistic notion turns people off and many times leads to failure. FYI, ditto for men like that - we call them "@ssholes" instead of the women's equivalent of a female dog. Neither kind belongs in any position of authority.
Don’t you wish?!
I was up early this morning and saw the first 3 poll results here on FR.
Trump in the 60s% in all three.
Carly at 12% in second place.
He beat her by 500%.
The whole night was designed to GET TRUMP.
They FAILED. He didn’t NEED to do anything yuuuge. All he had to do was what he did. He came out of it unscathed. That makes Trump the WINNER.
Whether you want to accept or not.
“is was very hot were they were. Even the audience was feeling it.”
That room where the debate was being held... it has at least one wall, or maybe two walls, that are floor-to-ceiling windows. Simi Valley isn’t cool this time of year. An HVAC system can only do so much. Also, there’s a good chance CNN wanted the candidates to display flop sweat, especially Republican candidates.
Jeb never looks comfortable in his own skin.
Yeah, all that juvenile high 5ing impressed me also............
You have just precisely described the typical path of the typical politician who goes on to become a member of the Permanent Political Class and a typical tool of the media and lobbyists. That is exactly what has gotten us into this mess. No, thanks.
By the way, Trump has mentioned Carl Icahn several times, who is renowned in top-tier business circles. I'm sure there are many others who would like to lend a hand to the project of rebuilding our economy and our borders.
No he doesn’t. I even get ‘antsy’ watching him. Seems he thought it would be easy and/or his heart is not really in it. His performance sets forth an uncomfortable persona.
Oh yes he totally thought it would be easy because the establishment told him not to worry because they’ve got lotsa money. Well...some things are not within their power because some things cannot be bought. Trump cannot be bought!
I have a lawyer friend that wears a “drink” backpack filled with ice under his suit when going to court to stay cooler, could be Trump had that going on or might want to consider for future hot events.
The whole night was designed to GET TRUMP.
I don’t agree both debates were designed to highlight Trump for entertainment secondly..
BUT to IGNORE CRUZ specifically.. all done with precise precision..
And NOBODY has gotten it.. especially the Trumpbots..
Thank you hostile make-up man. . .added make-up to highlight bags under his eyes and to bring put his 5 o’clock shadow.
I read Nixon’s book on how this all went down. . .shameless.
Those that listened to the debate on radio thought Nixon clearly won over Kennedy, whereas the TV audience gave the edge to Kennedy.
From, Nixon and the unfriendly make-up guy to RINO McCain’s experience: http://www.politico.com/blogs/michaelcalderone/0908/Atlantics_Goldberg_is_appalled_by_photog.html
Whether you want to accept or not.
Being entertaining wins FANS not votes..
I am a fan of Trump but not a voter..
And early this morning someone at Fox News reported the air conditioning was broken. . .don’t know if true, but could explain a few things.
Trump was the only thing that made that 3 hour snoozefest interesting.
Seemed to me that Trump was not out to attack anyone last night, and that he was friendly to the others. The high fiving was at least humanizing.
And the others high fived him back. Guess they are juveniles also.
Good point. He'd have a hard time walking these comments back.
WEll if you were watching right after the debate when the handshaking started Trump walked past Carly and shook her hand she gave a fake smile and jerked her hand away and sharply turned toward someone else. Talk about body language. :-)
Most middle school post of the day——so far.

A one or two term office doesn't a career politician make. But it does give some experience in governing & governmental operations. Business is not the same as government. The two are very different concepts.
Since being successful in business now qualifies anyone then we should be begging for Buffet or Soros to run also because they succeeded in business?
Reagan held one office for two terms as governor then ran as POTUS. That is a huge difference. Reagan had a standing stable record we had to judge him on.
Cruz is a first term senator who unlike Obama has acted like a senator and Cruz has taken on the establishment Liberals in both parties including Mitch McConnell very few others have the guts to do it seems. Cruz would not have the severe learning curve Trump would have and again Trump is so off the wall we have no clue as too whom he would appoint. Walker has also stood up to the DEMs. Not perfect but some needed experience. At this point we do not need another Egotistical POTUS doing On The Job Training. We can't afford that risk.
My faculty advisor, seeing my distress, gave me some life lessons that evening about how life actually operates.
I know it's disappointing to purist conservatives when their candidate is not the one who appeals to the majority of the Republican voting pool. But we have to back the horse that can win in this particular race. There is too much at stake to do otherwise.
Console yourself that Cruz is young enough for a long career and another shot at the race, after Trump has bulldozed and demolished the remains of the old House of Roosevelt, Clinton and Obama and erected a great new structure in its place.
