The day he got the prize was such a funny day here on Free Republic. Countless threads making fun of Obama winning the prize based on no accomplishments crowded out threads about other items in the news that day.

That Nobel given so early in Obama’s term stunned everybody.
The credibility of the Nobel panel has never recovered from that ridiculous social experiment in wishfull thinking.

Obama has to have been the only person in history awarded the Nobel Prize just for being who he was, in the minds of the awards panel. He had no accomplishments. Alfred Nobel would have fired the whole bunch.

Going from always giving the prize to Marxists to giving the prize to a man who hadn’t accomplished enough to even properly prove he was a Marxist, made the prize a punchline to all of Obama’s foreign policy failures and destroyed any credibility the prize will ever have.

It was politics, pure and simple. He got it for who he was, and not for what he did.

Obama DOES have the record for most lives bombed out of existence by a Noble Peace Prize winner. So there is that.

Alfred Nobel would have fired the whole bunch. He probably would have stuck a stick of dynamite up their collective arses.
Truth be told, for the last couple of decades the Nobel Peace prize winners have been a pretty abysmal lot

Not much understanding of how incentive works with those people.
They're giving European-style socialism a bad name or something.

The award just confirmed he was nothing more than the beneficiary of affirmative action...

You're making the assumption that the Nobel panel had any credibility in the first place.
