I wonder if baking soda and hydrogen peroxide are as effective against this as they are against skunk spray. That combo was very effective on our dogs when they killed a juvenile skunk a couple of months ago.

I can handle the smell of excrement.

I can handle noxious gas...

...but it's the smell of decomposing donkey that gets me every time.

baking soda and hydrogen peroxide

We keep two buckets with that and dish soap, rubber gloves...

Our male Australian Shepherd, just does not learn! The females, one time and they stay back.
The male has been skunked 6 or more times in 7 years!

And some think there are no differences between the sexes.

Responses so far have been at the “neener-neener” kindergarten level. What a waste of brain cells and pixels.

“Skunk” is a weapon that is benign but to be feared, in terms of crowd control. Better, IMHO, than bullets, rubber bullets, beanbags, teargas or pepper spray.

I was studying in Paris back in the 1960s during the OSS demonstrations. Watched the flics use a crowd-control gas that created instant diarhea when inhaled.

Worked like a charm. Each individual in the crowd took off like a panicked rabbit. Probably illegal now, more’s the pity.
