Where were YOU on September 11th, 2001?

I was 13 Years old in 8th Grade. This we before the ear of Ubiquitous Cell Phones and Media so we were kept in the Dark until bout 10:50 CST when I arrived in History Class, which had a TV, Just in time watch the Towers Begin to Fall.

I literally couldn't believe it.

I was driving to work in Dallas...an hour and a half from home and listened to it all unfold on the radio (to this day I have a strong affection for the guys that did that broadcast.) Stuck in very heavy traffic at one point, I was next to a firetruck full of firemen. I looked at them and nearly all were in tears, as was I.

About an hour after getting to work, a good friend and coworker started softly singing God Bless America. I joined her and before we finished the whole department was singing as well.

Very few things make me cry. But 9/11 and the remembrance of that day and the time following...always brings me to tears. Tears of grief...tears of anger.
