They are just trying to make sure we know where ordinary citizens stand in the scheme of things.
I’ll admit, that in this case the officer who was shot gets no sympathy from me. I hope the home owner ends up owning the entire city though.
The cop shot the dog first... Owner returned fire...
Had he not shot the dog he wouldn’t be in this mess.
The dog made eye contact. So they shot him. The homeowner then made eye contact. So they shot him. One of the cops couldn't believe it, and made eye contact. So they shot him.
Be sure to install plenty of full length mirrors in your houses. It’s also good for security to install recorders with motion detection next to those mirrors for automatic issuances of warnings against burglars. And always keep your doors locked, of course.
And with any legal luck at all, they will also cost their tax and salary paying public quite a bit by the time this goes in and through the court system and out the county's checkbook.
Be nice if the union picked up some of the legal tab, too. They're all lucky this didn't end much worse than it did, but still...why do they always have to shoot the dog?
Because home intruders NEVER use that trick...
MF g-d death cops better get the right effng house. people will defend themselves against unlawful entry. they have a higher responsibility to get thia shit right or innocent people die for their mistakes. sh1t policing.
When I read it was three cops the first thing I thought of was The Three Stooges. So I went looking for a pic of them dressed as cops.

That’s funny.
IN other articles on this, there was no address given by the caller, just a description, “gray brick home.”
Enter a home uninvited and stop a bullet. Home invaders often shout "police".
I’m not defending any absurd cop invasions of any home, business, or anywhere. Simply pointing out that when there is a “legal” way to get away with bad behavior, it will be taken advantage of. There have been so many exceptions to the Fourth Amendment by SCOTUS, that it is hard to keep up with them .
Well, congratulations on being so quick about it.
Man defending home from invasion. Will he see justice?
It wasnt even that. The cop was shot by another panicky cop.
Investigators: Georgia officer likely shot by other officers
A "black lives matter" set up.
If cops are this easily tricked, they should be disarmed.
If the threat is real then (Oh Well) at least they didnt shoot a dog or the wrong person.
Then they can show up after-the-fact and generate an inaccurate report for your insurance company.
Business as usual.
Owner returned fire...
The owner never fired.
Geez... Maybe that police chief will tell his officers to stop shooting a dogs after the workman’s comp claim and the inevitable lawsuit from the homeowner.
