One of the arguments made by the GOPe is that the Iran sanctions bills passed by Congress which date back to 1996 all include Presidential waivers (under the condition that such waivers are in the national interest).
So they take the position that even if they treated this capitulation as a treaty and voted it down, Zero would still use the waivers to kill the sanctions anyway.
Still, they should be voting it down as a treaty regardless. If nothing else that would strip the deal of its legitimacy while defending the Constitution, rather than aiding and abetting this fraud by the WH.
And there are many more powers Congress controls - they could block all funding of the UN, the IAEA, the State Department, or the entire government. Yet they choose to do NOTHING.
It would also be common sense if they won’t consider it a treaty to at least use the “nuclear option” to ensure a Senate vote. Yet even that move seems too much to ask of the GOPe, despite the Rats using the nuclear option at will to force thru all of their radical judges!
I didn't know this as when I watched this rally, I didn't see any buses in the backgound. That is bad news.
That would be the best case then. When you know you are going to lose, you want to lose quickly and quietly. Obama would have owned it all. Now, the GOP, because of some Daffy Duck Machiavellian plot from the GOPe, everybody owns it.
