Nothing would make MSNBC happier than a Trump candidacy; Hillary is beating him in the polls.

Ha! I bet Rush’s listenership wasn’t too keen on that.

Matthews used to be a blue dog democrat. Now and then you see twinges of it. He gets Trump-has done so from the very beginning.

I took it as more the country was the little guy’s only real point of pride.

Such as the Trump/Kelly bout alone gave Hillary a week off from e-mail hell. Matthews, et al., hope Trump will distract from H’s crimes and eventually stir up enough animosity to unify the Dem base (the GOP milquetoasters aren’t enough of a threat) and split the Republicans, possibly with a third party candidacy.

“I took it as more the country was the little guy’s only real point of pride”

I see that way too. The rich don’t care as much because they can move if things get screwed up, the middle class are stuck with it if it turns to shit.

“Nothing would make MSNBC happier than a Trump candidacy; Hillary is beating him in the polls.”

In June, Hillary was 23% or even 26% ahead of Trump in the polls.

In July, CNN/ORC polls showed her at 17% ahead

In August, she is now only 6% ahead.

Her lead has slipped, big time.

I wouldn’t bet on Hillary winning a match-up with Trump.

I remember living in Philadelphia in 99-2000 and they didn’t have Fox News yet. Matthews and MSNBC were actually the sanest of the news options in covering the 2000 race. My buddy and I watched Matthews every night. I think when Fox gained full dominance, MSNBC and Matthews turned into a circus.

Well if the fact that Matthews gets Trump isn’t a warning, then be prepared to be stampeded right over the cliff.

The BIG question. Who carries New York, Hillary Clinton or Donald Trump?

It’s over.

Checkmate.

Who is this guy and what has he done with Joe?!

Usually can’t take this guy, but unbelievable some of the things he’s been saying lately. I never click to read him, but have found myself doing so lately. How bizarre.

It seems to me that Trump actually wants to FIX the problems, rather than just MANAGING them.

and Chris Matthews should get it. He fits the demographic: white, lower-middle class, Irish-Catholic, from suburban Philly. Hasn’t Chris confessed that his father voted for Reagan?
