OFFICE OF THE CHIEF OF PROTOCOL
Mr. Dennis Cheng
Deputy Chief of Protocol
Term of Appointment: 07/20/2009 to July 2011
Dennis Cheng was sworn in as Deputy Chief of Protocol of the United States on July 20, 2009. As Deputy Chief, Mr. Cheng serves as Acting Chief of Protocol in the absence of the Chief.
In this role, Mr. Cheng oversees the visits of heads of state, chiefs of government and other international dignitaries who are in the United States to meet with the President, Vice President or Secretary of State. Additionally Mr. Cheng supervises the management, administration and budgetary matters of the office.
Prior to joining the U.S. Department of State, Mr. Cheng served as National Finance Director for then-Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton. From 2005 to 2008, he served as New York Finance Director for her Senate and Presidential campaigns. He has also served on the campaigns of Senator John Kerry, General Wesley Clark, Congresswoman Doris Matsui and New York Attorney General Andrew Cuomo, and as a consultant to the William J. Clinton Foundation.

A Clinton Foundation source noted that while Dennis Cheng is leaving this week, he will continue to work as a "volunteer" through the foundation's March 4 annual gala.
Cheng served as deputy chief of protocol in the Clinton State Department and was Clinton's New York State finance director on her 2008 campaign.
It's difficult to separate the Clintons' political lives from their personal and charitable endeavors; Hillary's new campaign finance director, Dennis Cheng, was recently chief development officer for the Clinton Foundation.
While Hillary Clinton mulled her presidential run, Dennis Cheng pulled double duty for a short time:
(1) Working as the chief development officer at The Clinton Foundation, and,
(2) building a 2016 fundraising team.
Cheng, who is credited with raising more than $248 million for the Clinton Foundation since 2011, will fill Hillary's top campaign finance post and take on the daunting task of fortifying what is expected to be a billion-dollar campaign.
He joined the Foundation in 2011 after serving as Deputy Chief of Protocol of the United States, where he was responsible for overseeing the official visits of foreign heads of state and for organizing bilateral and multilateral summits hosted by President Obama, Vice President Biden, and Secretary Clinton.
Prior to joining Hillary's U.S. Department of State, Dennis served as national finance director and New York finance director for Secretary Clinton.
Cheng left the State Department to work at the Clinton Foundation, where he helped the massive global charity drum up millions of dollars in contributions. Prior to his time at State, Cheng served as finance director on Clinton's previous Senate and presidential campaigns.
Since joining in 2011, Cheng has raised $248 million for the foundation endowment and worked to diversify the group's priorities. ...

bump to the top
If gang bangers paid a police chief $400,000 to hear 'a speech' everyone would know it was a bribe.
Wonder if Dennis Cheng gets Trump to run as a Ind and take away votes from the R party and land up with a lot of gov contracts?.
