Listening to Trump’s actual statement, it’s blunt and totally true, but nowhere near as bad as some want it to be.
The person off camera interjects that: “He’s (McCain) a war hero”.
Trump says: “He’s a war hero. He’s a war hero because he got captured. I like people who didn’t get captured...
McCain’s saying Trump “Fired up the crazies” is far more insulting to the thousands who chose to attend Trump’s Phoenix rally.
Trump and Jeb Bush, both of whom never served in the military, have made a couple of boners in the past 24 hours: First Bush with his comment that he supports a transgendered military, and now Trump with this shot-from-the-hip assertion.
Bud Day, who I believe was the senior POW officer in NV, had said that McCain’s conduct was okay, and that’s good enough for me.
Unfortunately, McCain, IMHO, has since made himself a Traitor by getting into bed with top enemy islamist commanders in the ME.
I’ve liked that Trump has been a flame thrower to the GOPe, and I would like that to continue for the time being. But his engine has started to sputter to the point that he should take care that he doesn’t go into a flat-out spin.
The people that are upset by this are people who don’t like Trump anyway.
McCain sucked as a pilot, sucked as a Senator and sucked as a Presidential Candidate. Trump is right. McCain milked his poor piloting skills long enough. (McCain should not have called me crazy, so there.)
Trump was unelectable in any event. But he is good at poking people in the eye, and that needs to be done in the present political environment.
Still, he could have phrased this comment better; or better yet, not said anything at all.
The unfortunate thing about Trump’s comment is that it may give McQueeg a boost in his primary fight.
“I like people who weren’t captured.”
Super rich people can be so stupid and shallow. Most are. Look at the CEO’s of global corporations as they buy off our politicians to destroy us through massive foreign invasion of cheap labor, killing American industry and middle class jobs.
