Let's be fair.
“All (I repeat: ALL) evidence of slavery must be banished NOW !!”
You neglected to add that the State in which Seattle is located should be renamed because it’s currently named after a slave owner.
Let’s get rid of the statue to Lenin first shall we?
THIS is offensive!
Charlette needs to get a life.
It has the portrait of a slave owner on it!
I have had a little exposure to Seattle’s ideas as to monuments, and I posted it here some time back. Rerun time.
More than a few years back I read an article in the Seattle Times that on Aug 6 of that year there would be a memorial service and the unveiling in some park of a statue dedicated to a nine-year-old girl who died in the Hiroshima bombing. (It was one of those “Feel Guilty, America!” articles.)
I wrote the reporter and asked her if that organization was going to raise a similar monument in memory of a nine-year-old girl who died in the bombing of Pearl Harbor.
She replied that she was unaware that any civilians died in that attack. That’s when I realized that Washington was completely Californicated.
He might have a point if there were anything actually racist in the monument. Or anything that expressed any opinions at all.
In fact, it's just a bunch of stones with the name and seal of the organization and crossed rifles on it. You can object to its existence, I guess, but there's nothing racist or objectionable in its design or appearance.
