Most all of that infrastructure remains in place even under a GOP president and Congress. It would take a real scorched earth policy to purge the offices of all the executive branch departments and the education system.
Not that I have a problem with shutting down the government...for quite a while.

We just finished watching the series a couple of nights ago on Netflix. It was powerful, but a very dark show with a lot of profanity although I suppose it fit the strange personalities of the characters. Kind of a spooky ending though. I suspect they could even do another series with the surprise way they set it up in the last two minutes of the last scene.
It had a lot of nice scenery of the Keys, the local beach, and the ocean down there. It looks like great fishing territory. It also seems like it was raining because a lot of the scenes had torrential downpours and I don't think they were done only with a water boom.
That is the plan and a devilishly effective one, too. I fear it has gone too far to reverse at this late stage without a lot of widespread violence aka civil war and/or breakup of the country into pieces.
