A surprising judge who doesn’t automatically rule for the mother. Sounds like there may be some merit to the father’s claims of alienation.

Let me understand this. This judge just sent three children away to a juvenile detention facility until they’re 18 because they don’t want to be around an abusive father, and now they can’t be with their own mother either. Judicial tyranny is too mild a description for this unhinged woman. Recall/Impeach her ASAP.

If his relationship with the kids is this bad, and they are preteen to early teenage, the courts won’t effect it for the better. The judge is probably right, that the mother poisoned the kids’mind against their Dad, but it’s a done deal now. The judge may consider a mediator and family counseling. The entire family with custody battles and all is deeply dysfunctional. The kids would need some incentive to cooperate and ‘play nice’ with their Dad. They may have to resort to ‘allowance adjustments’ to tempt better cooperation, if that’s legal.

June 24 court transcripts showed how upset the judge was. She ordered the Tsimhoni kids ages 14,10 and 9 to have a "healthy relationship" with their father. She criticized them for avoiding him and even compared them to Charles Manson and his cult. Gorcyca then ordered the children to apologize and have a nice lunch with their dad. When they refused, Gorcyca held them in contempt and had each child hauled off to Children's Village's juvenile hall - until they are 18 years old.

This judge needs to be disbarred IMHO. This ruling is just insane. Sending a 9 year old to Juvie for NINE YEARS for NOT HAVING A LUNCH?! Insane!

The eldest child didn’t want anything to do with the father, because he had watched his father hit his mother and I doubt that it was just once.

Seriously, you think that parties that aren't part of the case (parent vs. parent) should be subject to court direction as to counseling?

The parent should have had their children represented by a lawyer and not had them present in court for some judge to randomly decide to send them to prison for failing to act in a manner that the judge directs.

Family members, friends and those in the legal community welcomed Lisa Gorcyca to the Oakland County Circuit Court bench Thursday during her investiture ceremony.

“I’m so grateful to the people of Oakland County and to the voters,” Gorcyca said. “I will not let you down.”

Gorcyca was formally sworn in as a judge during the crowded and lighthearted ceremony at the Oakland County Board of Commissioners Auditorium, adjacent to the courthouse.

Several friends and colleagues extolled Gorcyca, saying that she’ll be a great judge.

“She has common sense, kindness, compassion, decisiveness,” said Denise Illitch, University of Michigan regent.

Oakland County Executive L. Brooks Patterson called Gorcyca “one of the finest lawyers in Oakland County.”

Gorcyca was the top votegetter in November’s election. She is a former assistant county prosecutor who worked as chief of the prosecutor’s office’s domestic violence and elder abuse section...

From the court's transcript, at least one of the kids was represented by their own attorney. However I couldn't read beyond the first page.

It is an outrageous abuse of the law that that judge used contempt of court as a way for her to brutally punish three children. Ordering 9-14 year old children from a custody/visitation case to be punished until age 18 in the juvenile offender's system is disgusting.
