The LA newspapers are heavily pushing for legalizing street vendors. This isn't simply a food truck here or there. It's streets clogged with vendors selling everything, constantly. So your street looks like a full time yard sale.
I've even seen people selling their used clothes and shoes on a blanket. I wouldn't have a problem with maybe a once a week vending day like the farmer's markets. But this is day in day out crap on the sidewalks. And yes, it definitely looks third world. It's illegal ... and the cops drive on by.
