I appreciate Trump’s testicular fortitude, but he cannot be the Republican nominee for president. And will not.
I think you summed it up pretty well. They can't understand why people wouldn't want marginally potable water piped in (even though they drink bottled water) and spend fortunes on filters to fix the tap water.
What I find peaceful and refreshing, they find to be a traumatic decompression of absence of stimuli. They even go "camping" with TV and a boom box (ipod, now) and a host of things to light up the night around their RV.
I miss the days of my youth when we could catch a couple of fish (no license required) and build a fire and cook and eat them on the spot...but the rules of the people who live in what I regard as urban hives extend far beyond the limits of their habitations. Unfortunately, the anthills rule the savannah. (well, when they are looking, anyway.)(8^D)
The very first bill my congressman proposed when he went to Washington was that Representatives spend at least 20 days of every month in their districts. It went to committee and was never heard from again.
If it were up to me representatives and senators would spend 90 days total in Washington and would wear ankle bracelets to make sure they were where they belong the rest of the time. If they need to go overseas for an official reason the senators would have to take it up with the full state legislature and US reps would take it up with the state senators and representatives who represent the US rap’s district.
Nothing in the Constitution empowers the Federal Government with any say over marriage, therefore it is a Right or Power reserved to the States, or the People.
While there is no right for homosexuals to marry in the Constitution, the clause "...nor prohibit the free exercise thereof." is applied to religion in the First Amendment.
That allegedly protected right will inevitably come under attack in the next round of lawsuits which will directly attack those who refuse to issue the licenses, bake the cakes, or perform the ceremonies in their churches or elsewhere, because of their religious beliefs.
In this court, the invented rights of faggotry will trump Almighty God Himself.
Given the choice, I will entrust my future to the Almighty, and the SCOTUS can pound sand.
Nice!
Let me add some thoughts to your reply.
Mandate that Senate and House members salaries be paid by their respective states. Add staff salaries as well.
Eliminate Federal pensions, let each state decide whether pensions are warranted.
Let each state decide on purchasing housing, or renting for members. With the reduced time in session, a time share arrangement seems to be a good idea.
No Federal vehicles.
Sure others can come up with more ideas such as weekly drug testing and such.
A wonderful plan, but the boys and girls in DC like to cozy up to the moneyed interests too much.
Once they have our votes we are not important. We count only every 2 or 6 years.
The last decent person I remember being in Washington, other than Reagan, was Dan Daniels.
The one time I desperately needed his help, he was Johnny on the spot.
