Let’s not be naïve. The lingua franca of politics are favors. Despite my support for Cruz, he’s just a politician. The history of conservatives going to DC isn’t a good one. He may be an exception, but the Constitution and the country won’t be saved in DC.
We cannot count on our elites, but only our ability to make our elites see that the people’s and their interests are the same. That’s never easy.
Politics is playing a "you scratch my back and I will scratch your back" game. No need to accuse anyone. That's how it's done. If Cruz is a politician, then he will and he has played.
