I Googled it. Johnson pardoned the Confederate Soldiers, but not Lee. Lee requested it later, but his loyalty oath was "lost" for 100 years. His pardon was granted posthumously when his loyalty oath was found in the National Archives.

People like this look at one side of history but ignore the other side. Let's take a look at all the hysteria going on with respect to the Confederate Flag ( and by extension, General Robert E. Lee )...

I am a Northerner and not a Southerner, but support the South's right to fly the Confederate Flag.

Look, if we are going to use the Confederate Flag as a symbol of slavery, then let's be consistent.

The Confederate Flag (Stars and Bars) never flew on a slave ship but many slave ships flew the Stars and Stripes.

Yankee slavers in RI, Mass, NY, and Conn. grew very wealthy in the slave trade.

In fact, the vast majority of KKK rallies had these racists carrying the Stars and Stripes in their marches.

So? Are they going to take down the flag of the United States too?

People like this lawmaker are giving evil fools like Dylann Roof too much power and credibility by capitulating to the hysteria of the moment. By doing this, they are simply providing incentive for the next nutjob to do something similar in the future.

IIRC in college Medved was carrying water for Hanoi during the Vietnam War. Now that he’s all grown up his act hasn’t changed, now he poses as an American conservative while working for some other side.

There is a Patrick Henry High School in San Diego. Lee got closer to San Diego than Henry ever did, and Lee freed his slaves, which Henry did not do.

Maybe they could rename it Light Horse Harry Lee Elementary School.
