You have nailed another one of my long-term frustrations with the Church.
Historically we have been on the side of unborn life from the beginning, which is admirable. But I have spent most of my adult life in Pittsburgh, a city that is overwhelmingly Catholic (and Democrat), watching bishops, priests and nuns fall all over themselves fawning over local Democrat politicians who had never met an abortion they would not vote for. And they would always take Communion, despite the fact that everyone in the building darn well knew they were not in a state to do so. I would have been denied if I had brought a Big Mac to Mass and eaten it during the Homily.
Then we failed to mobilize against Obama in 2012 after he had more or less declared war on us with the health care mandates. Perhaps that told me all I needed to know.
One thing you can do immediately and see how God speaks to your spirit. Stop taking the catholic Eucharist believing you drink the loiteral blood of The Savior. His blood was for the Mercy Seat, not catholic bellies. His blood covered the law of sin and death so that now ANYONE who believes Jesus is Savior and Lord, puts their faith in That proclamation from God, can have God’s Life in their spirit. The Life of Christ was in His blood. That blood was the perfect covering for the law of sin and death so that now the holy of holies is clean and the believer can enter freely into God’s presence as a born from above child of God’s family, to be raised up in the Way that they should go BY THE INDWELLING HOLY SPIRIT OF PROMISE.
I seem to recall Jesus instructing that the time is at hand to sell the cloak and buy the sword.
