Yes, there was a time when people would buy a house to live in for a year and a half or even one year, knowing they could sell at a profit but those days are long gone. Houses in some areas here can be bought for cash and rented out at a rate to recover the entire purchase price in three years. That is just ridiculous. I think some people who keep moving to find work might be better off to buy a lower end house, rent it out when they move and rent another to live in wherever they go to work. The original purchase should be paid off in a few years and then the rent would be income from then on. Of course there are probably more things to go wrong in that scenario than I can event think of.
At the current rate we will soon have a small group who own all the housing and the rest will be renters. I am certainly glad to own my property free of debt. I could become a landlord again but I can’t bear the thought of dealing with renters again.
What difference would it make? We are in a great depression now, we simply refuse to admit it.
CHANGE
A tent for every family + food stamps.
Of course. It’s always been this way with tyrants. Look how rich the ruling oligarchy is in China today. North Korea. How well the ruling oligarchy fared in the Soviet Union. Rome. It’s always been this way. That’s why tyrants want to rule.
No doubt, I believe our country is doomed of Hillary gets elected and continues his policies.
