I tell you what scares me more than a shark - its those Manta Death Rays flapping around in Florida. But sharks are pretty dern scary. So are killer whales. Seeing any dorsal fin will tighten up the old scrote.

No, most shark attacks happen in shallow water because that’s where sharks and most other predator fish feed.

It would be hilarious for someone to contact one of the local stations in Wilmington, claim to be from some oceanographic institution, and tell the reporter it was a Megalodon. In this day of Twitter news and unsourced reporting, one of the locals would probably run with it, and never bother to learn that the species went extinct millions of years ago.

Never let the facts get in the way of a good story.

If the shark felt like a Megalodon, then its genetics do not matter. Sharks are allowed to be trans-species too.
