I’d put a stop to that.
It’s pretty much impossible to do with current Admin laws protecting the workers. Not a whole lot you can do, despite rhetoric. And “doing it anyway” is not an option as the law suits would be rampant and cost the Gov’t a fortune.
It took Japan 20+ years to pull out of their economic slump. It will take us as long, if not longer. That is assuming our “leaders” actually do someting about the situation.
So, basically we are screwed.
Yes, this is a major hurdle.
How, though, is it a factor if whole agencies are removed?
If not, then I suppose the issue is the near impossibility to abolish a whole agency.
This was attempted during Reagan years, and AFAIK, agencies slated for the chopping block, due to opposition, had to merely be scaled back.
GOOD NEWS, there is SOMETHING CALLED the VETO! VETO EVERYTHING and watch the PORKY PIG BASTARDS called “Congressman’ and “Senators” SQUEAL!
I think we may be past the point of a peaceful solution...
If any president wants to “clean house” they will have to declare Martial law... Not on the 50 states but on the District that is Washington DC and burn the damned thing to ground (figuratively speaking). Literally send all the congress critters back to their home states for a few months while all executive branch agencies are pruned with extreme prejudice...
But that is not gonna happen, the empire will continue to slump....
Until it finally SNAPS...
Ronald Reagan had an easy job compared to what the next president will face. Everywhere you look things are a mess. An absolute mess, and getting worse by the day.
They failed to get out the vote. The next year Obama took Wisconsin by 9 points with Ryan on the Republican ticket. Dems in Wisconsin turn out for presidential elections and not so much for mid-term elections. If Wisconsin govnernors were up for election on the same day as presidents then Walker would still be a county executive.
Drastic across the board cuts will have the added benefit of eliminating many of the moles that democrats love to have infiltrating the bureaucracy in order to thwart and destroy any opposition president’s agenda.
LOL, yup, he only had to deal with democrats all leaving the state to prevent a quorum.
Cleaning up or getting rid of certain agencies would definitely be a Herculean task. Even if it started after the next election, how many following administrations would stick to it for as long as it might take? One change of administration wouldn’t do it unless they could get rid somehow of a huge percentage of the present “dead wood”? Don’t see that happening with all of the other pressing issues we have.
:)

You are absolutely right.
