You really SHOULD LEARN how to count !
“No, McCain has come out and supported amnesty openly.”
No, not at all correct - he supported ‘a pathway ‘, exactly like Walker.
But Cruz has accomplished very little.
Walker, in comparison, has worked with a purple GOP in Wisconsin and implemented true conservatism all the way. You cannot deny that.
Walker has the better RECORD.
If you want to compare the intensity of attacks, then Walker wins again.
Walker faced the nationwide liberal establishment three times and endured everything they could throw at him, including investigating his family and friends. To this day, they still take shots at him far more than Cruz.
So, if your measure is who is the greater target of attacks....Walker wins again.
Sorry, but every one of your points is easy to refute.
But, as caww said in Post 57, both Cruz and Walker are good conservatives and I would not be disappointed if Cruz wins the nomination. Far better than everyone running (except Walker).
The RATs have this crap pre-written on the shelf ready to go and try to ram it through in any and all opportunities whether it has anything to do with the primary legislation of a bill or not.
He said he would fundamentally transform America. I had no idea the republicans would help him do it. This will end the US’s sovereignty. One step closer to one world government.
If enough stupid people vote for stupid people to represent them,, you know the rest of the story.
That includes those of us who voted for a republican majority with the same rinos running things.
Simple 1 step process
Step 1:
Is authority/power able to be legislated upon IE: Consult the Constitution.
Step 1B:
If NOT, simply refuse to GIVE the authority/power, as it is unconstitutional to begin
Step 2A:
If power is usurped, abused or constrained, use the power of the purse.
Step 2B:
If the above fails, remove from office and/or IMPEACH and/or JAIL
Hey, don't worry about it, just post his campaign slogan and pretend that anyone questioning Ted isn't honestly concerned with his behavior, they really have an ulterior motive.
The goats don't want anything to rile up the sheep being led to the slaughter.
When the real money was in business and industry, oligarchs bought one kind of representative. Now that the real money is in crony capitalism and overseas slave labor, they buy us a different kind of representative.
Does anyone dare to defend Cruz on this thread?
What are you talking about? Of course Walker’s never voted for amnesty—he’s never been in a legislature facing a vote.
But just two years ago Walker fervently advocated not only amnesty and citizenship for illegals, but also effective open borders—by which anyone who wants to come here, including “anyone from Mexico or from any other country in the world” can come here so easily legally that they’d never bother trying to come here illegally.
Walker also pressured Congress to pass TPA this week.
I’m actually starting to think the best candidate out there may be, of all people, Fiorina. She’s been calling for TPP to be made public before TPA gets a vote. (Final versions of TiSA and T-TiP should be revealed as well, with the finality of all versions written into TPA.)
She’s also no worse than Cruz (or vaguely flip-flopped Walker) on immigration. And she’s clearly the sharpest candidate out there in terms of being able to think and speak clearly and in-depth on her feet.
Walker has spun like a weather vane on amnesty.
But he’s been backed by the GOPe, Koch bros., etc., for years—and he vocally supported amnesty and citizenship for illegals just two years ago.
He hasn’t actually come out with any specific Jeff Sessions-like positions at all. All he has offered is a non-committal, “I’ll consider American workers first”.
Don’t be buffaloed by yet another WI GOPe sellout (a la Ryan or Reibus).
Walker never supported outright amnesty and made that clear throughout his career.
In the past, Walker did have Ted Cruz's position of giving illegals fines and a path to citizenship if they go to the end of the line. Walker also advocated making our legal immigration system easier to navigate so those that really want to be Americans can do so.
But, then Walker toured the border states, met with their governors and Sen Jeff Sessions (leading CONSERVATIVE on immigration) and adopted Sessions' stand on immigration that US citizens come first.
Now, you may want to keep pointing at Walker's support of GOP positions over the years as flip-flopping, but when it came time to govern, Walker ALWAYS did the conservative thing.
People, like you, love to insinuate that Walker is part of the GOP-e, Koch, etc because you cannot poke holes in his RECORD as governor.
Scott Walker is a more conservative governor than Ronald Reagan.
Disprove that.
Why don't you talk about what Walker did with illegals as governor of Wisconsin?
Could it be it would not support your preconceived notion of him?
Maybe you should look at Walker's RECORD a little closer to see what this man did as governor.
Scott Walker is a more conservative governor than Ronald Reagan
Giving illegals fines and a path to citizenship is amnesty. Letting them stay here legally without a path to citizenship is amnesty too.
Walker in effect was advocating open borders just two years ago, as well.
He is a total GOPe stooge.
Walker in effect was advocating open borders just two years ago, as well.
No, fines and applying for citizenship is not amnesty if it is carried out properly. We just know it would not be carried out properly. Walker took the GOP position.
No, Walker never advocated open borders. That is a lie.
Walker was in favor of making legal immigration easier.
But Walker never went as far as Cruz did in supporting a 500% increase in H1B Visas and no limits on legal immigration.
Walker now favors limits on legal immigration.
But, you avoid Scott Walker's RECORD on immigration and point to his words while Cruz supporters keep pointing to his words and ignoring his RECORD. Why?
Could it be that every time immigration was an issue in Wisconsin that Walker did the CONSERVATIVE thing?
Of course it’s amnesty—they’ve broken the law and aren’t entitled to either stay here legally or be granted citizenship.
And yes, Walker has in effect advocated open borders by saying his border defense would be to make it so easy to come here legally that nobody would bother entering the country illegally. Don’t go accusing posters of lying when they’re not.
Cruz is for legalization but not citizenship, and he does advocate a big increase in work visas for technically skilled immigrants, but he hasn’t been for practical open borders the way Walker was—just 24 months ago.
No, Cruz wanted to give illegals work permits, just like Obama, make them pay fines, and become citizens.
Cruz still holds that position.
At least Walker admitted he changed his tune after seeing the results of illegal immigration along the border states.
But, again, you ignore Walker's RECORD.
What did Walker do with regard to illegals?
Walker hasn’t nearly adopted Sessions’ strong stance on immigration, and the only way he’s not pro - amnesty is if amnesty has been contorted to mean something it doesn’t. The GOPE has attempted that contorting—and I’d say your Establishment outlook is clear.
Really?
