Well, they did start ISIL...since Hillary did that in Libya. I think the plan was to use this to “normalize” relations with Iran...but Iran did not play the game that way.
Now, ISIL is going to be entrenched, Iran is getting nukes guaranteed, and Israel is going to have to do something effective.
So do I trust our current administration with fast track?

Clinton upset the dominos with Libya and Egypt and Syria. Hell, these people were sending arms to the Syrian rebels through Libya. EVERYONE KNEW THIS, AND WE DIDN’T PROTECT OUR GUYS ON THE GROUND THERE. SHE SHOULD NEVER HOLD OFFICE ANYWHERE IN THIS COUNTRY.

Give it time. That is how Vietnam started after the French left. Johnson sent just a few advisers and that was no big deal because we were told they would not be fighting.
If this anything like Vietnam, we will have 60,000 troops in Iraq in the next few years. But that will probably be ok because there will be a coalition of 60 nations participating with the US providing 59,000 troops and the 59 other nations 1000 troops.
In the coming weeks we are going to hear that Baghdad has been attacked. Americans then will die. Then what? This guy has boxed himself into a corner. He’ll have to send more troops in. This is a bad bad bad situation ready to get worse.
INteresting commentary from Ret. Col. Ralph Peters today. He says none of our military commanders would ever have dared do what ISIS pulled off in Ramahdi and elsewhere. He says our brass will be studying their methods of war fare for years. These guys are committed and have the means. Can they lick us? No, but it’s not our fight now. We pulled out. We left. We’re done there. Iran is in the drivers seat in the short term.

A whopping 450 troops? He would be better off sending 5000 with the orders of take no prisoners. Capture them, interrogate them and shoot them with bullets dipped in pig blood. Announce to the world that these “jihadists” will in no way ever see their 72 virgins.
It will be over in a week.
What a waste of fine American lives.
