Excellent picture!
Isn’t it a shame that Realtree camo patterns do a hell of a better job camoflaging a hunter, than anything our military issues our service men?
I agree with all here who say a universal camo uniform can not be realistically expected to provide effective broad battlefield concealment.
Different theatre, different uniform, ie: urban gray, desert sand, woodland green, artic white.
IMHO, I’m partial to USMC Marpat Woodland, and new tactical A-TAC patterns.

Most likely a scam to get their suppliers more money -- out of the pockets of our troops.
A couple of months before I ended my 4-year tour, the USAF came out with a new fabric for "Class 'A'" uniforms. Which we were required to buy -- to be "in uniform".
Somewhere among my stored "stuff", there is an expensive, Hong Kong-tailored dress uniform -- worn to ONE (1) Commander's call.
Needless to say, I needed that huge expenditure like I needed a leg amputation...

Maybe I'm not informed, but why do the soldiers who will never see combat action or engagement need to have camouflage uniforms ? I asked that one about the camo they were giving the Navy. The answer was "so that they can hide from their Chief, sir!"

$102 for a uniform is too muchYep. The Navy did the same thing. Made is get rid of our $6 utility shirt and $20 utility trousers and replace them with our "hide in the water" Navy Working Uniform that costs over $100 before we even have to pay to get insignia sewn on.
To add insult to injury, because the uniform isn't properly fire retardant, it is not authorized to wear while underway.

The plain old olive drab uniforms, (pre-1980), worked just fine. I would agree the human eye is designed to pick up anything moving with a pattern on it. I can't count how many times I bumped into someone at night wearing OD green. The woodland camo stood out like crazy.

Mike ,that photo looks like a Houndstooth pattern!
Reminiscent of “Are You Being Served”, but more gay.

Snicker
A long time ago, in a galaxy far far away George Carlin quipped about the guys in Beirut needing store fronts and car grills on their uniforms to blend into the urban environment.
