Who would throw away the first amendment!?

NEVER! Never ban Islam.

But we do need to permit religious discrimination. There is no need for the federal government to take issue with religious discrimination that is done privately. Businesses should be allowed to discriminate. This would allow us to intimidate Islamists by not serving them.

Your reasoning makes sense if you consider Islam a religion, imp.

I do not, I consider it a system of despotic government, which uses religion to mask it’s goal of conquest. On that basis, I think it should be banned from our shores.

-— I see no reason why this wouldn’t happen again, especially as they did not even put up a fight this time around and instead invited them in. -—

How are we different, except that we’re separated from the Caliphate by an ocean?

No, we are not all that different. Except we haven’t imported as large a number ... yet.

At the time of the French revolution, all Catholic orders lost their properties, and many individuals were exiled, imprisoned or executed.

Then, the same thing again in the 19th century, with the anti-clerical laws.

In 1880 and 1882 Benedictine teaching monks were effectively exiled. This was not completed until 1901.

The 1905 law on separation of state and church was enacted with strength and vigor ...

It was very sad, especially for French nuns, who left their convents, stripped of every piece of property which was their security for old age. Many went abroad, always very humble, not complaining, and established themselves elsewhere.

It was a huge human rights abuse, which historians barely bother to mention.

You ban Islam in France and there will be more than Muslim students burning cars..with certainty.

The Muslim population of France reached an estimated 6.5 million in 2013. ... whose origins are from Muslim majority countries.

This estimate would imply that the Muslim population of France is now approximately 10% of the country’s total population of around 66 million.

In real terms, France has the largest Muslim population in the European Union.

Better just to say Islam is against everything and anything that is not Islam.

No need to ban Islam; just ban ALL Islamists. Put them on a ship sailing to the middle east. Get them all out of America.

“We must ban the Muslim faith..."

Our own first amendment prevents that, unless we declare Islam to be what it is, a socio-political system masquerading as a religion.

But then we have to be willing to evaluate other "religions", like Scientology for instance.

How stupid have been our assorted government(s).

We, in suicidal form, allow the CPUSA to exist and flourish and as a result have 49 members of Congress as card-carrying members.

Scientology has, as of yet, not murdered one American citizen. Neither have the Amish or the Mormons.

Kicking Islam in the ass should be a frolic in the park.
