Nearly 85 percent of those arrested or cited in connection with shoplifting calls at Eagan’s new outlet mall were people of color, according to a Star Tribune analysis of nearly 1,000 calls to police in the first eight months the center was open.
Was there evidence that they had committed a crime? Were there convictions? Is this article a suggestion that thieves should not be reported or arrested if they happen to be black?

When I worked retail the majority of thefts and loss came from black youth followed closely by elderly people who would attempt to remove markdown stickers and place them on full price items. We got labeles that self destructed when you removed them. That really losses them off.
I worked in loss prevention when I was in college. We were not allowed to make a stop unless we had actually seen someone take an item and then exit the store without paying for it. If I stopped you, you might be colorful, but you were also a thief.
I’ll bet the work gloves and work boots are safe.

Yep. Next thing we're going to hear is that 6% of the population commits half of the violent crime in the US.
It just boggles the mind that there are "racists" who think that.

Solution: simply refuse to arrest every other black shoplifter OR plant evidence and arrest enough white shoppers to bring the numbers into “compliance”.

Worked in retail for many years. Record stores. Most shoplifting was by blacks. One of the stores that was in a predominately black area actually kept the records behind the counter and displayed just the jackets in the bins.
The only possible solution is to arrest lots of white shoppers until parity is achieved. Problem solved. (Of course, most of the mall’s patrons will be in jail.)
This makes me wonder just who are the slacker enforcement personnel who are randomly selecting the 15% non minority targets. If this were 100% minority, just maybe the bleeding hearts would have a case. Just maybe.
