Oh and I forgot. I guess they speak European in Europe, huh?
Yes. We have an active - if aging — filipino organization here that I am familiar with - great folks. And my eyes moisten when the VietNamese Viet Nam veterans march in our Veterans parade.
I read that all of the businesses torched in Baltimore riots were non-black. That has to open some of their eyes.
The never ending focus on the internment camps is pretty damaging to us all. After all, the Japanese treated Americans and Australian civilians in their control very well /sarc.
My wife and I became close to some Chinese students studying here through our alumni organization. One was able to stay here, is a Christian, and is marrying next month. Another really got our Freedom and desperately wanted to stay but couldnt get the work visa. Im just thinking of examples of Chinese cultural openness to messaging of Freedom.
The Kochs have started doing some messaging to Hispanics. http://www.newsmax.com/Newsfront/libre-hispanics-politics-koch-brothers/2015/05/01/id/641983/
Maybe the stupid Party will follow suit.
LOL.
Interesting point re Mexican.
There is Spanish Spanish, as in the generic media Spanish usually heard on Univision.
Then there is Mexican dialect, with a unique series of accents, and peculiarities of vocabulary and pronunciation.
The politically significant language here really is Mexican, in its major varieties.
No major politician from any party does Mexican. The best probably is Jeb Bush, of all people, because he learned from his wife who is the genuine article. Jeb does do Mexican folksy a bit. Rubio is Univision-Cuban.
“Franks . . . and Beer.”
Sounds like American food to me. I’ve only been to Texas once, but nothing says America like the road from Houston to San Antonio. We passed by by Praha, Moravia, Breslau, New Braunfels, Shertz, Schulenberg, Waelder, New Berlin, St. Hedwigs, and stopped to eat at Schilo’s in San Antonio.
As I recall Ayn Rand had a low opinion of Asiatics.
