blaming capitalist motivations from “movements in the United States”

Statements like this will have a negative, positive or no impact on The Peter's Pence Collection coming up in late June?

I am not a “skeptic” about the climate, or even about climate change.

What does induce a great deal of skepticism, is that carbon dioxide plays much of a role in either warming or cooling of the planet as a whole. Excess carbon dioxide is taken up by more verdant and more lush plant growth, and is largely self-regulating.

Now, there is one atmospheric gas that has a HUGE effect on climate, and that is water vapor. Get enough water vapor to condense and fall upon the Sahara desert, and you shall effect GREAT changes in the earth’s climate. Turn Algeria and Tunisia into the breadbasket of the Mediterranean.

You ask, does the Pope realize he is playing right into the hands of the Population Control crowd who use this agenda to support and promote ABORTION AND EUTHANASIA?

I feel confident in guessing "No." But I don't think he feels he owes the Population Control people any logical consistency. Just desserts: There's nothing logical about the population controllers anyway.

I'm also confident that nothing the Holy Father is likely to say about Global Toast is de fide.

This coming from the same Church that burned people for thinking that the world was round.

Even the best models absolutely wiff on clouds, and water is the biggest “greenhouse” (or as clouds, anti-greenhouse) gas there is.

I still dare the best science to knock down the explanation that clouds do a very good job of keeping the earth from thermal runaway under a given solar output. With the caveat, however, they can’t do much about the effect of varying solar output except to slow it down some.

So far as I know, nobody is polluting the sun.

So you can feel wonderful about your marvelous pure theology. What’s it actually accomplishing? Sounds like a lousy witness here.

To your point, water vapor comprises 93.%5 of so called “greenhouse gases, and the variability therein is so great, as to be impossible to model.

Given that, how do these “scientists” explain the impact man might have on the variability to the 3.5% contribution of CO2?

To be clear, they are asserting that man somehow influences sufficient change in that 3.5% composition, to override the variability in the 93.5% element.

It is absurd!

If the threat of rising sea levels were a real problem, we would be doing the following:

  1. Building dikes (much of the Netherlands is reclaimed from the sea)
  2. Building massive civil engineering projects to divert sea water from the oceans to totally or relatively uninhabited below sea level areas. Egypt's Qatarra Depression, the Caspian Sea, Death Valley, just to name three.

We would not be trading carbon credits or limiting industrial output of only capitalistic inclined nations.

A fine example of a pope who has been isolated in a socialist country drinking the koolaid to survive. I’m keeping my faith, but ignoring him-he Church has survived bad and apostate popes before, and it will survive this one, too.

I’d object further not just about variability but that the effect of water vapor, liquid water, and clouds is rather focused. Other than being able to bring the earth to a snowball death if everything really does freeze over (the albedo of the ice would then keep it from ever thawing again) the water in its various forms serves to compensate for the thermal effect of any reasonable change in carbon dioxide.

Christendom manages to plow on in spite of its earthly leadership.

You’d almost think God had made a promise....
