I get updates from the MdTA by email. This is one of those.
I think those tolls actually might have been removed in the 1980s, because I remember the toll booths at the exit ramps in 1979 when my aunt took me to see her friends in Philadelphia. However, the main toll plaza at the Susquehanna River is still there, and until this July 1, it is charging $7.20 for EZ-Pass Maryland users, $8.00 cash. They charge them northbound, while southbound drivers bypass the toll plaza.
I believe the last tolls were removed before 2010.
So, basically this is just for EZPass. Also known as, EZTracktheSheep.
We who do not need, nor want, the magnetic strip revealing our every move still have to suffer.
I guess I’m still screwed and have to pay $6.00 when I cross the Route 301 Harry Nice Bridge into Virginia because I don’t have an EZ-Pass.
Dallas has Toll-Road sickness.
