That's such a left wing attitude. If Cruz didn't want to attend "boring votes" he shouldn't have been a Senator. The actual vote is only part. Showing up is an important point. Sad that Cruz took the Obama route instead of the Reagan out.

Cruz may be the best candidate, but without constant pressure he will start McConnelling out. He already caved on gay marriage.

I know. All the issues conservatives have to be concerned with, and on which Cruz has spoken on behalf of conservative principles, and people want to try to make this an issue? It's not like he didn't make it perfectly clear where he stood, and that he didn't know the vote tally. This is grasping at straws for those who want to undermine a good conservative candidate. He's not perfect, but he's as close as we're likely to get anymore, and he's a darn sight closer to perfect than the Romneys, MCains, Jeb Bushes, Lindsey Grahams, et al, who keep getting served up like moldy leftovers.

When did he cave on sodomite marriage? What did he say?

You’re showing your ignorance of Senate procedure. The cloture vote was the one that mattered. Cruz was present.

Which candidate are you supporting? Hopefully not Jeb.

It will be a great day on FR when someone puts voltage to your utter invented crap. No one else will say it so I will.

He was present on the vote that mattered. Its jerks like you that fuel the smokescreen that allow the RINOs to continue to spout their conservativeness on simple majority votes.

He hasn’t caved on gay marriage. He has two bills before Congress now to protect traditional marriage. All he said was that if one of his daughteers turned out to be gay he would still love her.

I’ll second you, thanks for having the spine to say it out loud first.

Thank you. I had heard that much. I was pretty sure that it would be red-letter headline news if Ted Cruz had “caved” on sodomite marriage.

There is more to being a Senator than just showing up for5 cloture votes. When are conservatives going to start thinking like conservatives again?

Thank you for speaking up, you're not alone. The jerk is truly long overdue to ride the lightning.

What did he say?

He said he supports the "state's rights" argument on gay marriage which already failed. California voted against gay marriage, but it didn't matter, because there was a "Constitutional right." Utah has gay marriage. So the state's rights argument won't hunt anymore. In two months Roberts and Kennedy are going to force every state to have gay marriage. And the state's rights people know it. So, they can just shrug their shoulders and say, "we tried. Time to move on."

You want to tell Republicans it’s okay to go to the left. I want to remind them they better not. Which is the winning strategy?

Okay, where is the state’s right argument going to be in a month when the Supreme Court imposes it on every state? Even without SCOTUS, states won’t last much longer. At this point the state’s rights argument is just a cop out.

It's not like he didn't make it perfectly clear where he stood

That's going back to the pre-Ronald Reagan era. When Republicans were just happy to be allowed in Congress and make a cute little speech and then they knew not to fight Democrats. They knew their place. You want to go back to that? What's the point to make little speeches and tell the opposition you won't fight for what you believe in.

In Congress in 2015, NOTHING has passed Congress that didn't have 93% Democrats voting for it. So Democrats rule Congress right now, even though Republicans allegedly have a majority.
