I’ve read about the drunken brother theory and reports. All I can say is it sure seems that just a fist by itself would do that level of damage to an eye. Yes, there are lucky punches and yes Reid is elderly.

The list of Congressional people at the bottom of the page to which you link is the membership of the committee who decides who gets SS protection (all of whom are Executive Branch people).
