Its probably the only thing about him I am worried about.
The law says you must buy healthcare, and you have to obey the law, even if you hate it. (The law is clearly unconstitutional, but the Extreme Court, under blackmail, ruled otherwise.)
His wife lost her insurance due to her leave of absence. He has to get insurance somehow, and by law, members of Congress are required to take Obamacare. What choice did
Senator Cruz have?
I see it this way: when he bashes 0doesntcare, it will be as one who is subject to it, and not exempt from it.
The RNC and the DEMS are trying to keep us home in ‘16.
The Dems are worried about turn out, especially with uninspiring Hillary flopping around the country, and the RNC and the DC crowd want to level that playing field to get those DEM votes for their man, JEB.
They need to knock out our front runners out and keep us home on permanent pout, in order to get the old boy through a primary where he is a flop, but for the money he will certainly have to attract the other side full of liberals.
No one is to advance but Jeb Bush, you hear? :)
I will be satisfied when President Cruz signs the Repeal of 0bamacare into law.
Agree.
It can’t matter to him, money wise. He must have a purpose, whether it is following the law, or to talk with the authority of one who is in the system. Whatever it is, he could have gone either way and the money is immaterial to him. So whatever his reason, I expect it will come out in good time.
Prezactly!
I don’t think a Presidential candidate can afford to be seen as violating the laws that apply to the rest of us. I don’t understand the controversy.
I liked his answer when asked if he was against Obamacare, why he enrolled in it. He said something like, I’m against the IRS but I pay my taxes.
Senator Cruz from apolitical perspective has only one choice: compliance. Grudging or otherwise. The fact that he didn’t take one of the outs written into the law such as the medical sharing ministries tells me that he intends to use his enrollment for some purpose. We’ll find out why in time.
I think he should ask 0bama: if 0bamacare is so great, why is your family NOT signed up?
Having skin in the game means something.
Because of course it’s about PRIVILEGE, it never was about law, for Obama.
He is 10 steps ahead of the MSM.
Moral, even if not legal. He put his skin in the game.
No. I think he dropped the ball on this one. BUT, I also think it’s a tempest in a teapot.
I believe this is a very smart move on Cruz’s part. Only thing I am worried about is if the big Zero figures out that Cruz should get special treatment and just sail right thru the process, then he would have no ammo to use to bring this thing down. The guy is a step ahead of everybody else.
An unjust law is no law at all.
