I don’t have enough information to know whether GPB has done a good or bad thing.
All I know is that the Alamo is an American treasure, and that GPB better be doing the right thing. San Antonio is one of my favorite cities.
I was there in January, 2014. Here is my photo gallery of the Alamo:
Nice.
God bless Texas.
Read my piece on the Alamo on my bio page..if you’re interested in Texas! :)
NEITHER KNEW A THING !
I told them what I knew (from a post yesterday) and referred them to FR
I'm expecting some new freepers soon from Texas
Both calls ended in VERY friendly terms and I was asked to call and keep them posted about what I knew
As someone who lives here in San Antonio, I can tell you it is in need of something. It has fallen somewhat to disrepair, and the grounds should be kept up a bit better. I love that it is lit every night - a shrine, as it should be. Having a place to see the artifacts from the Collins collection will be very interesting. So many tourists I take there reply after seeing it “this is it?”. It actually should encompass more room than it does, but city expansion and the Riverwalk dominate the area now.
Ping as you have a vested interest here.
Thanks for the ping!
The little P should not have made it through the primary.
Same money people decided that we needed a little P.
Probably La Raza since San Antonio’s mayor’s mama is a big honcho in the organization.
My thoughts exactly. One of his political cronies with campaign ties to Bush will likely turn up. Enough with the Bush family cronyism already. The whole damn family are full of political cronies and crooks IMO.
Some additional info. Apparently revenues are down and upkeep is minimal. Limestone foundation is being eaten away by rainwater.
