Texas is supposed to have a Bill to nix DST, but we’ve heard that before.
“AZ does not have daylight savings time and we dont miss the bothersome adjustment.”
Agreed! I moved to AZ about 20 years ago from TX and have never once missed DST.
Lame.
I thought, no wonder thus place is an economic and political basket case. They can't figure out the benefit of darkness in the early am with enjoying more daylight on the beach in the evening.
It was great to work for an employer who allowed Flex Time, where you could adjust your hours a couple times a year as long as you were there during a core 6-hour period.
Of course, now with the “liberating” features of modern [un]employment, many can write their own ticket RE their daily schedules
Whine, whine whine
Did it ever occur to you to petition your employer to alter their beginning and ending working hours schedule? Why disrupt most people when a company can choose their operating hours. The government only screws things up as they have since ole Ben F. wrote about it in a ‘humorous’ piece. Ole Ben is laughing his arse off at the thought of us trying to save daylight.
It won’t fit in a piggy bank and my bank won’t accept it either. So we might as well not try to save it... </Sarcasm
How about rearranging your work hours to suit yourself?
"Evil likes darkness" and like my grandfather always said, "nothing good ever happens when the sun goes down"........
Wow, there you have it, Daylight Savings Time is now officially Bush's fault!
I’m in favor of double DST from May through August.
LOL! I didn’t know someone could do that to Time.
We should simply go to “standard” time and be done with the hassles.
That would be nice but my clients would need to rearrange their work hours as well. With over 45,000 accounts in the NY Metro area to support, I think that might take some doing.
Ya got me there. My dog does seem to have a clock in his belly. It is accurate to the second.
We have tried to lead the horse out of the stall half an hour before the stables would normally feed.
That used to end badly for us.
I prefer LED bulbs in several applications — I just prefer having a choice in the matter more. Governments are finally admitting that the mercury in CFL bulbs is a problem. While CFL bulbs were the only reasonable alternative to incandescent bulbs, governments overlooked their own stringent environmental laws concerning mercury — now that there’s the LED alternative, we might see bans on CFL bulbs before long.
BTW, in colder climates (i.e. all of Canada) lighting season overlaps heating season. Incandescent bulbs are 100% efficient heaters (when used indoors). Switching from incandescent to LED or CFL bulbs saves zero energy, during heating season.
It has something to do with relativity. When your relatives stay around too long, during the holidays, time seems to move more slowly.
Yah. It’s all Relative, eh?
