I suppose a towel head(especially turkish towels) is more “trendy” than rag head and is that not what its all about these days??
I’m actually going to that school tomorrow to cover their lacrosse game against Archbishop McCarthy . . .
I believe they wouldn’t be so uptight if they would just loosen those towels a little.
True...however...
What have we been witness to in the past 20 or so years with regards to behavior in schools and elsewhere in society?
Lack of accountability and responsibility.
By design? Probably so...and our society will pay hell for it.
When you say true, there is no but.
There is no right way to do the wrong thing.
Bullying begets bullying.
You never insult a student without using sarcasm. You can get a teacher fired for what they say, but not for how they say it.
“Peter, you have got to be THE SMARTEST kid in the room. I am ready to recommend an honorary Ph.D. from Harvard for you!”
As much as I dislike the current Muslim / Islam ideology and its effects around the world I would not transfer it to a student in one of my classes by saying something so unprofessional. Its not the kid’s faul he’s being raised by turban headed Taliban head lopper pedophiles..: )
You bring up a good question. Was the father upset over the “rag head” remark or for calling his kid a “Taliban” when he’s actually in Al Queda.
Bullying someone should get your a$$ kicked and the bullying will typically be stopped. It’s how I stopped my bully, it was the only response to his actions he responded to.
There is physical bullying and psychological bullying...persistently disrespecting a teacher [challenging authority] in public is a form of psychological bullying...getting your a$$ handed to you in a pretty benign way that results in the cessation of such behavior is a pretty damned effective way of correcting behavior.
I’ll just say that I agree with you to a point...there will be hell to pay for society’s refusal to correct behavior.
Oh wait, we’re already paying...
That only results in a mutual detente between bullies and it will become a knock-on problem later. There is no real justice, which is being held accountable before right rather than before might.
There are a lot of weirdos out there raising kids. Kids at school should be able to rely on their teachers not to abuse them.

I agree. A good teacher who becomes concerned and devotes a little time to helping a troubled child can make a huge difference in their lives later. I’m one of them. Because of a third grade teacher I came out of my shell and became a straight A student for years. I was real shy and wouldn’t say much at all. She gave our class an IQ test and I had the highest score. I had thought I was dumb probably because of an emotionally and physically abusive father. After that I changed. Now my wife says she wish I hadn’t had that teacher because I won’t shut up ...: )
Oh dear the poor raghead must be scarred. Maybe a couple hundred thousand can go a little way toward healing the pain... maybe burn someone in a metal cage to help the healing process along...
