The ultimate goal is a ban on all cenferfire rifle ammunition.
Anti gun rights groups consider .30 caliber and above ammunition sniper ammunition. The same goes for your Winchester Model 70 and Remington 700 series hunting rifles. A bullseye is on all hunting rifles.

Most West Virginians have something much more potent than a .223 poodle shooter. There may be some that like the gee-whiz look-at-what-I-got aspect of having an M16 lookalike. Pappy’s .270, .308 or .30-06 is more to be feared. The heavy caliber eye brow cutters are even more so.
These are the same police that Obama and his race baiters from coast to coast wanted to string up just last year.
Would those be anything like the armor piercing bullets that Socialist Insecurity was provided with a few years ago?
I don’t see the corrupt, RINO-controlled Congress exercising its constitutional power to override presidential vetos (1.7.2) to stop lawless Obama from unconstitutionally banning ammo.
In 1982, the voters of California rejected Prop 15 which would have banned handguns in California.
since that day, the politicians have been trying to find all ways around the will of the people one bite at at a time. Now with the firing pin imprint they may have finally found a way to ban handguns without “officially banning” handguns.
NOW THEY ARE MOVING ON ON AMMO, one bite at a time. We knew decades ago, with the first anti-lead laws that the real reason was to eventually ban lead in ammo.
Kind of like banning coal fired power plants, not by banning them buy by regulating them to death.

Anything a Mil-Surp M855 round will do a Mil-Surp .308 or 30-06 ball round will do and there must be a hundred billion of those in the hands of civilians.
At least WalMart sells firearms. Not Costco...... And this may well be specific to a single WM store due to some manager over-reacting, rather than a corporate position.

In my humble opinion establishment republicans don't want to spend their time and political capital waging war with Obama.
They just want to wait him out and get back in power so they can be the ones first in line looting the treasury and taking care of their pals and contributors.
They don't want to change the system - they just want to be the top dogs again.
That is why they get more upset with conservatives and reformers like Ted Cruz than with criminals like Obama, Hillary, Harry Reid and Nacy Pelosi.

Questions for Josh Earnest and proponents of the ban:
1) In the last 5 years, how many LEO’s have been wounded or killed in the US in the line of duty by criminals (not by themselves or other LEO’s) using M855 or similar “armor piercing” loads in 5.56mm? Provide names and details.
2) Of those, if any, did the “armor piercing” character of the ammo actually make any difference? Provide details.
This is a fake problem.
If tyrants are wearing body armor, bearing arms without the ammunition that would defeat said body armor will yield less than acceptable results. This takes away from the security of a free State.
