Winnipeg really looks good as do Anaheim. In ways though, this year has NY Rangers written on it as well.
Playoffs for all intents and purposes is right now:
Kings Flames, Senators fighting for a spot.
Ottawa defeats the Rangers 3-0...Florida currently up on the Bruins 4-2, 4 minutes left. http://www.cbssports.com/nhl/scoreboard
Flames up on Kings 2-0.
Amazing, we could see the last 2 Stanley Cup champions, Bruins and Kings not make the playoffs.
“Amazing, we could see the last 2 Stanley Cup champions, Bruins and Kings not make the playoffs.”
The last 2 champs are the Kings last year, the Blackhawks the year before, I am simply wrong here. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Stanley_Cup_champions
Wow, did the Kings labor in these recent games and sounds like they are eliminated, losing to Calgary, 3-1.
Pretty amazing.
Western Conference, places may change yet, but:
Blues
Ducks
Predators
Blackhawks
Wild
Canucks
Jets
Flames
All go to the playoffs.
Kings, 93 points. They will miss out. Not a bad record.
Ottawa 97 points
Pittsburgh 96 points
Boston 95 points
Going into today’s FINAL game, this is like a photo finish:
Ottawa, Pittsburgh, Boston, at the end of the day, one of these 3 will not make the playoffs.
Ottawa has been a hot team recently, some say since the All Star break, they just scored a goal to go ahead of Philadelphia on the first period, only about 5 minutes into the game, I think they will keep their form and win. That guarantees them a place in the playoffs.
TONIGHT:
7:00 PM EST, Penguins at Sabres; along with the Oilers and Coyotes, I guess the Sabres have been in the cellar this year.
7:30 PM EST, Bruins at Tampa Bay Lightning;
So, that is how this all adds up. Well, I’d see the Bruins missing out myself but I could be wrong.
At the end of the day, 2 will make it, 1 will be out.

Curious, Ottawa defeated the Rangers the other night 3-0, one wonders if the Rangers, winningest record in the NHL, even put out an effort.
Ottawa is in but the Flyers put up a good fight.
I’m sure the Sabres vs. Pittsburgh will put in an effort, likewise, Tampa Bay vs. Boston later.
Pens looking to advance, leading Sabres 1-0 in 2nd while Bruins trail the Lightning, 1-0. Penguins would play the Rangers.
Looks like the Bruins are going to be odd man out....
