I was just struck by the sea change that has occurred in these Arab states, not only in the past few years but since the end of WWII.
Objectively, IMHO, these people are batshit crazy.

I have Absolutely no doubt that our Military and Intelligence agencies have rooms full of reports and analysis primarily from after WWII that defined US policy. I believe those reports and subsequent actions taken by our military and political leaders were justified.
Something has changed.
We either supported or isolated Arab Dictators for a reason and for the most part, they kept the peace.
0bama has undone nearly 60 years of serious intelligence work and 1400 years of historical evidence.
The problem with the “Caliphate” is it has 1 Caliph, and no borders. All the Islamic lands fall under it. So the problem has always been, who gets to lead? That fact has lead to endless wars in Islam, and will be it’s ultimate downfall again. It has all the practicality of pure Communism as envisioned by Marx.
Turkey had a very strong secular tradition, look what Erdogan has done to it....
True.....how much of that has penetrated the military though is in question...
They have been replacing generals and other officers left and right in Turkey.
