The Vid shows three transport cases, the other two being about twice the size of the first.
uhhh...
NO....
It’s not a HAWK continuous wave acquisition radar, and it’s not a HAWK pulse acquisition radar.
You can cross those right off.
Dude, really? OPSEC! Good grief.
Keep your horseshit comments about the USAF to your intended target.
If so, that would probably be at Ohio State University (and probably civil service).
AN/PAQ-3, MULE is a piece of gear I am intimately familiar with. I don’t know if Copperhead arty rounds are still used, but thirty years ago that was the true “one shot; one kill” round.
The junk in the crate isn’t an old laser designator.
Ya mean, “You should see them hogs when I skin, gut, butcher, and make sausage when I hit them with the Ma Duce!”
Yeah, the pic in post #6 pretty much deep-sixed my guess.
I noticed a module that looked a little like an old-fashioned laser head on the left side of the case. Could be a power supply, though.
FAS page doesn't say how hold it is, but does say that it was made by Hughes Electronics and cost a bit more than $200K.
I wonder how it fell into the hands of these guys?
one stop shopping..
If memory serves me right the guy that started the tread is one of the putin’s brigade members here on FR. I wouldn’t volunteer info. Probably posting straight from Moscow.
Tailback:
Do you have issues with USAF?
Just curious. ..
You want to have a side discussion about the Air Farce? Bring it. I retired Air National Farce after 14 years in the Army and Army Guard. You don’t want me to talk about the STS, the full bird that’s in Leavenworth, the boat that was sunk off the Oregon Coast, the STS Supply dude ordering and selling 4 wheelers...? The Oregon papers have all the dirt dude. Lexis Nexis is your friend...
USAF as a whole? No. USANG in Oregon...YES. See post 33.
Okay then....
You might wanna stop the Air “Farce” thing then.
Thank you.
I’ll change it to the ORANGfarce just for you. Do you notice ANYTHING ON THIS THREAD that should not be on an unsecured commo line?
Well, this answers the question of WHERE it came from.
International Business Times, 22 Nov, 2014:
US Delivers Counter-Mortar Radar Systems To Ukraine Following Russias Warning Against Aiding Kiev
http://www.ibtimes.com/us-delivers-counter-mortar-radar-systems-ukraine-following-russias-warning-against-1727948
The OSCE photo’d a Russian-made “Aistenok” counter-mortar radar on a Denetsk street on Jan 16th. It was also filmed in operation by the Russian’s “KN” news.
The scene is an artillery battery that was overrun. Could be some type of a meteorological set. MET is one one of the five factors of accurate predicted fire.
My knowledge is getting dated. The receiving station used to be trailer mounted but then again back then they used vacuum tubes. (And stone knives and bear skins).
Dude..
Relax...
This isn’t exactly secret equipment, it seems to be widely exported.
And as the IBT article I just posted shows, it’s not exactly a secret that we gave it to Kiev, either.
You don’t need to do any favors “ just for me”...
And yes, I see things here that are troubling to me but that is what this day and age have become...
