Ummm, and is there any outcry for this "suggestion" to violate the rights of "minorities" between 21 and 25? Because those under 18 (rifles) 21 (pistols) are already "prohibited" from having them. Sounds a little racis' to me. But what would you really expect from this IPOS guilt ridden old white guy? Guess we'll need to insert this in his name plaque "nanny 'jim crow' bloomberg".

Ha! I love it.
Is this not profiling?

Did Bloomberg suddenly become a knuckle=dragging tea-con, racist? ... or ... oh wait, it’s the LEFT who are the racists.

Do pardon, the media has had it wrong all along I suppose.

And Bloomberg is still considered a Republican becaaauuuse.....

(I know there are liberal Republicans, but is there anything about this guy would actually categorize him as a Republican other than receiving party money for re-elections?)

Reminds me of a debate between Jesse Jackson and Orin Hatch on gun control. Jesse was arguing ad infinitum for it, but offering no facts to support his position. When he finished a particularly long rant, Orin looked at him and said: "If we removed the murders committed by black males between the ages of 17 and 29, our murder rate would be lower than Switzerland." Jesse's response: crickets...

The question here should be: Are we allowed to present facts if they show a demonstrated behavior by a minority group? In other words, are facts racist? It's the same issue with profiling. You profile a group because of demonstrated behavior. At what point do you cross the line between fact-based behavior into racist behavior? I don't know where that line is.

Maybe young minority males should be banned from joining the Crips, Bloods, Latin Kings, and other violent street gangs.

This will come back to bite Bloomie in the azz!

His money won’t save him from being shunned by the left now.

Tarred as a racist, he can slink off and hide.

What liberal running for office wants to take his money/endorsement and have to answer questions about being racist?

The Times reported that he said, “Cities need to get guns out of [the] … hands” of persons who are “male, minority, and between the ages of 15 and 25.”

Isn't it a violation of Federal law for anyone under the age of 21 to purchase a handgun right now? So 60% of Bloomie's group are lawbreakers before they fire their first shot. How about enforcing the laws we have now before writing any new ones?

Bloomberg is mad that planned parenthood didn't do it's job and now he has to deal with the problem.
You can bet that most elites see blacks as just an inconvenience, something to be controlled or if possible eliminated.

He is certainly right about the demographics/race but I wouldn’t support what he is suggesting.

Here is the link and relevant text from the original story. I suggest that everyone here save it for the next time the anti-gun crowd starts chirping up:

**********

http://www.aspentimes.com/news/14957190-113/michael-bloomberg-calls-colorados-decision-on-legal-pot-stupid

...Moderator Jennifer Bradley, director of the Center for Urban Innovation at the (Aspen) Institute, then asked what the U.S. can do to get people out of poverty. Bloomberg responded that conventional wisdom points to education, but education isn’t going to help uneducated adults. Bradley later asked how government can offer basic fairness to the children “who have been failed.”

Bloomberg claimed that 95 percent of murders fall into a specific category: male, minority and between the ages of 15 and 25. Cities need to get guns out of this group’s hands and keep them alive, he said.

“These kids think they’re going to get killed anyway because all their friends are getting killed,” Bloomberg said. “They just don’t have any long-term focus or anything. It’s a joke to have a gun. It’s a joke to pull a trigger.”

Donald Sterling lost the Clippers for far less. Bloomturd should be forced to sell all his interest in and give up all control of his companies.

During the 1992 Presidential election campaign, I briefly considered voting for Ross Perot. He came up with a similar theme, something along the lines of surrounding the ghettos, going door to door, and seizing all firearms, to reduce crime. I am not sure what shocked me more, the fact that he actually articulated such a strategy, or the number of folks that thought it was a good idea !

I mentioned this in a prior thread - THEY ARE CHANGING TACTICS. They now realize they must pit group against group.

Perhaps here they will push for a law that applies ONLY to 15-25 year old males - NO GUNS for you guys. They get the law through, and then the first judge that reviews it says it has to apply to EVERYBODY, or nobody - and then, of course, Option 1 is chosen.

This is but the first step in disarming the entire population.

It’s all an exercise of smoke and mirrors.
