Did you feel the same when First Lady Laura Bush, Princess Diana & Secretary of State Condoleeza Rice did not wear head scarfs to appease murderous, backwards dictators?
She should have covered her head out of respect for the royal family. As for the outfit it was definitely not appropriate for a state funeral.
I see this as a win-win. And we all know that by tomorrow she’ll be back to infuriating us!
They crapped all over John Boehner about Protocol and then this ,Oh and don’t forget the World Gum Chewing Tour
OMG , I hit refresh and got some Fright , LOL
She didn’t wear a veil or scarf... Total disrespect. What the heck is wrong with these people? It’s obvious that they were insulted.
It’s nice to finally agree on something she did right. I understand some people feel differently and that’s OK. I didn’t remember that Condoleeza Rice & Diana refused to wear veils. I’m sure, though, that they conducted themselves with their usual grace. The Mooch IS classless which is what makes this so enjoyable! The Sauds are forced to meet an angry African-American woman.
Out of respect for the Saudi royal family? Really?
Mods!!! Where are you?! Take this away!!!!!!!!!!
A scarf is what Laura Bush wore....not a veil
And Hitlery
And Mama Bushy
And Nancy of Magnus
And Rosanne Carter
The Saudi monarchy....archaic yes.....are our allies in a crazy never ending war that we better prevail in
Michelle’s need to be feminist trumped our relationship with them to her
It doesn’t to me.
Under her husbands leadership we have lost most of our advances in the region and thumbing her nose at one of our few friends there is just not smart foreign policy though comically it played well to the left and some in the right here
Saudi Arabia and Israel nowadays communicate non publicly and share common foes bent on the destruction of each
I guarantee that Bibi Netanyahu doesn’t want the House of Saud to fall
The only gain by her insulting them was her to inflate her ego and accompany her perpetual scowl
If that were my rib she’d have worn a scarf
I realize this actually one of those rare instances decent posters here can have divergent views
Generally I agree with you. But in this case no, the Obama’s were representing the United State at the funeral of a head of state (to whom Obama bowed down to a few years before).
Michelle, the sour puss should have been taken right to the US embassy and stayed there until Barrack was ready to get back on Air Force One!
She probably decided not to rush into Sharia law as Obozo assured the king he would have Moochie and the girls in burkas soon enough.

Agreed. The Saudis have been playing us, by being the “good cop”.
They keep their friends close, and their enemies even closer.
Well, at least she did not fist bump anybody.
I said black because that is what the translated comments on Arabic news about this said would have been appropriate. I am pretty sure there are protocol experts in the White House, if not I know the State Department has an office just to address protocol. It should not have been a big challenge for her to find out what was appropriate to wear, pink or black. I am convinced she really doesn’t care.
I am with her on not covering her head, no matter what the protocol for that is.
Now S.A. media is saying they didn’t blur her, but the video that shows her blurred also shows another female- blond hair, dressed all in black with no head covering and that female was not blurred. I think the issue was her outfit color and pattern more than head covering or no head covering. The translated comments I read were nearly all about her not wearing plain black- there were just a couple that even mentioned her not covering her head.
I always liked you until you posted that!
